My Mom and I had the privilege of visiting the Raddisson Blu Hotel at the waterfront this weekend, 25th - 27th October, 2 night stay in one of their premium sea facing view rooms.
On arrival, we were greeted by Rochelle at reception, we received excellent service with a beautiful smile.....she popped some champagne as she heard that our visit was related to my moms birthday celebration.
Then we were accompanied and shown to our room by the fantastic and friendly porter Manfred.
The next morning, we woke up and had some nespresso coffee that was part of our room coffee station, with a view to die for.
We made our way down to enjoy the breakfast that was included in our weekend stay...where we received exceptional service from Xolie, the supervisor, Bukeka the Barista, and Melrick, the bar manager. We were constantly checked on throughout our breakfast, their smiles and friendliness were super refreshing, and don't forget about the exceptional food. Well done to the Chef 👏
We returned back to our room to find Liyabona, the housekeeper, cleaning our room....she was the sweetest with the most beautiful smile and super shy as well as polite, felt like we had just arrived all over again.
While we were down at breakfast, my mom hurt her knee when she took a tumble....I asked if they had a mini first aid kit, within 5 seconds, Eloise the supervisor of guest relation accompanied by their first aider was there to assist, even gave us some aftercare things to use if need be.
The afternoon came and we heard music coming from the restaurant, the music was to perfection, I was literally dancing on the balcony, went down to the pool, felt like I was apart of the event. #DJ midnight has skills of note....created an absolute vibe as well as the staff.
On our 2nd morning, we headed down to the restaurant for breakfast again and received the exact same amount of friendliness from the above-mentioned staff, as well as our waiter, Ntombi Ben. She was amazing Then last but not least, there was Solomon that came to our table more than once to check if we had everything we needed, fetched what we needed and was just so friendly, it's evident that he loves working there, and that goes for all the staff.
This speaks volume.
The time came to check out, where our Porter, Manfred, came to fetch our luggage and escorted us downstairs.
Our entire stay at the Raddsion blu , can be described as an out of this world experience and memorable.

We've stayed at 5 star hotels previously and enjoyed the luxurious rooms and when we compared the room at Radisson blu to that of One and only hotel, it was quite dissapointing! Since we paid and booked for 4 guests, we expected a setup for 4 guests..the bathroom had 1 complimentary/disposable toothrbrush, no cot for our 3 year old. Whilst on our arrival at the one and only, our room had 4 of everything, a welcome fruit plate and assorted nibbles, a diy cookie decorating kit for the kids, a cot setup for our baby, a whole set of baby bath soaps, oils and lotions, peak caps and bags and a little toy for our baby. This made our stay feel really special and luxurious - as one would expect at a 5 star hotel. On our arrival there was no welcome from security or anyone offering to take our bags from the car...whilst at the one and only, the front door security took us from the car, gave us a warm welcome and usherd us to the warm receptionist...I think your staff need to go to the one and only to see how one should treat guests. Not impressed with my stay at all. Also in the evening when the staff get your room ready for the evening, the chocolates they left looked like it was just thrown in the room. We had to call them twice to setup the sleeping couch for our daughter and the aircon in the room wasn't working. We asked them to see if they could fix it, they said they didn't know how. We were enjoying a swim in the afternoon and asked one of the staff at the towels if we could order a meal and drinks at the pools, he said he'd call a waiter whom we had to wait on for almost 30minutes just to place an order.
