Staffs were friendly and nice. Close to airport. Room was spacious and clean.
No USB chargers as most hotels would have and no bedside plugs as advertised. Really poor communication from the hotel:
First instance: I was awoken in shock early morning due to a deafening drilling noise that sounded like it was coming from the room next door. We had to call reception to confirm that this was scheduled construction as we were not notified previously. They did answer quickly and confirm this. However, we did not know about this the night before as mentioned. You would think that if there was construction work taking place the hotel would notify the guest beforehand. The loud drilling was ongoing even until we left the hotel at 11am.
Second instance: The hotel has free unreserved parking (in the car park underneath the hotel and in a public garage around the corner). The con (unreserved parking) strongly outweighs the pro (free). When we were heading into the car park under the hotel, the parking attendant told us to park underground. We followed his instructions as he guided us downstairs to B2 (garage floors: B1-B3). After we parked our car, the attendant said we were okay to leave. The carpark was under renovations and we also saw another car coming into our floor to park so we didn't question the attendant. The next morning when we tried to get our car to leave, we were told by the workers that we cannot move our car out at all until 9pm. We went to reception and they said the same thing and that we needed to move our car before 11am. Before this point, not once were we advised that we had to move our car before 11am - there were no notices in the hotel/car park nor was this mentioned during check in. The parking attendant that let us in also did not say anything regarding this. This caused us to delay our planned itinerary. The hotel staff were helpful and I could see that they were trying their best to resolve this for us. They kindly hired a taxi for us until 7pm - we had to cut our itinerary short as it was 2pm already by the time the taxi arrived. We went to get our car at 9pm to move it to the free garage to avoid this from happening again and the workers there told us that we can't get our car until 11pm even though we were told 9pm earlier on. We went to reception to confirm that we can get our car tomorrow as long as it's before 11am - they said yes and I specifically mentioned that our car was in B2. Come next morning and we get a phone call at 7:24am telling us to move our car as they are starting construction. 7:24am = 11am?
As mentioned by the other negative reviews, this hotel has really poor communication. Not once was this mentioned on any of the notices...
Read moreI do regret even booking this place intensely...and it was down to the staff at the very end.||The hotel itself is very dated, corridors to rooms are very spacious though. It is very close to the airport by car.||Check in was smooth and the lady checking us in was delightful, and I had asked if she could help organise a taxi and she said they couldn't pre-book early taxis but to come to reception when ready and they would help get one then. I said OK.||Time comes to check out and leave and we go to the reception, only for the supervisor on duty to just say to me, no they wouldn't call me a taxi. I advised the the lady earlier said help would be offered.||And I received NO such thing, no help, nothing. I had 3 x suitcases and one person with a disability and I GOT ABSOLUTELY NO HELP at all. I was disgusted, and this isn't an Airbnb or a hostel I stayed at, this is an established hotel, yet no they point blank refused to call us a taxi. I am not sure why it is so difficult for people in Jeju to do this. This isn't the first time, but this is the first time I have experienced refusal at an established hotel chain. I mean during my trip in Seoul, even the guy in the local CU called me a taxi when in need.||Makes it all the worse, it was a supervisor on duty too.||In cases where I had stayed at airbnbs or hostels by myself in Jeju, the staff would go out to the road and flag down taxis for me when they couldn't/wouldn't call, but this time, this guy just stood there and said no. Did nothing to offer an alternative, didn't tell us where we could best flag down taxis or if there was a taxi rank nearby. It was pathetic and I would definitely not stay here again nor recommend it to anyone.||It certainly ruined the last part of our Korean trip. 'Thanks' for that the supervisor at the Gloucester Jeju hotel, thanks for nothing but a bad memory of what was a good trip to Jeju until we...
Read moreFeeling very disappointed to the hotel, as they written on the website there isair conditioner provided in every room. However, after we check in, only realized that the air cond was not functioning. The staff saying that this is their policy, where only summer will be allowed to use the air cond, otherwise only heater will be available in other seasons. It's really ridiculous for us as a tourist, ur hotel was been chosen due to the facilities and services offered, but there is no mentioning of the specification prior to our check in, the staff juz asking us to open the window, and there is no other option given to help us, they only send me a fan after my request. Obviously that their intension was to save their money more than to save the earth. They even want to save their effort, not even to train their staff to mention to us during the check in, and no motivation to assist even after we saying we are hot to stay in their 5 STAR HOTEL! What's the stand for them to lock the air cond for us, are they going to pay for hospital or medicine fee when we getting a flu during a spring?! Anyway, its really not recommended to book for this hotel. Their bathroom and room also narrow space. The twin size bed was small for a guy and gal, juz suitable for two adult gals. I can really feel their stingy from all available facilities, amneties offered by them. There is another hotel in front of Gloucester, not sure nice or not, but at this moment, i really hope to cancel here and go there. What...
