stumbled upon this excellent showcase of important historical ceramics and archaeology discovered only a few years ago. reminds me how important this land and country is! let’s keep preserving and telling the story of korea’s powerfully unique history. so well presented and organized with interactive moments like a hanbok costume to immersive yourself in that time. truly impressive thoughtful elements. and it’s free! recommend to visitors and locals alike to understand more about seoul’s special history! everyone can learn something new and be prouder to know this place.

Incredible museum, unlike anything I’ve seen before and it was free! Entrance was difficult to find due to construction and language barrier: basically you need to walk around the side of the building and take the escalator down while the elevator is not going to floor B1 (see pic of this entrance). Loved that they ensure it’s accessible too, with a wheelchair lift (see photo).

Gongpyeong Historic Sites Museum is located at metropolis building which is just next to jungno tower. This is meseum gives you a glimpse into Seoul many years ago and you get to the level of development that Seoul had undergone from a third world country to modern Seoul. The level of transformation is pretty amazing. Entrance is free and definitely worth a visit

A fairly new museum. The museum seeks to preserve and showcase the archeological findings of Gongpyeong, and does so in a novel manner. Rather than displaying artifacts in glass boxes and landscapes in photos, the gallery is built above and around the archeological dig site, with glass floors that allow you to walk over the historical landscape of the Joseon dynasty. It also integrates activities and VR technology to enhance the learning experience for both young and old. Most of the informative panels come with English and Korean write-ups, so you will still be able to understand the historical learnings of the findings even if you are not well-versed in Korean. It isn't on the list of top museums to visit given its niche and how new it is, but is a hidden gem worth visiting even if you're not a...

I went here alone as my friends are playing at the Running Man Thematic Experience which is also within the Gongpyeong Area. The museum looks really cool! It has glass floors where you can see the excavated Gongpyeong sites while walking above it which is really, really cool. It's my first time to be in a museum like that! I've also learned a lot about the lives of Koreans during the Joseon Dynasty, and how the King monitors his constituents through proper trials and righteous justice. The entire museum is very beautiful and amazing! Very educational too!

A MUST-VISIT WHEN YOU'RE IN SEOUL!

P.S. Use the CITY MAPPER app if you're going around Seoul. It's more accurate that...
