This was a fun quick take on how to make traditional kimchi right in the center of Hanwok Village. You will go home with a kilo of kimchi you made! The setting is in an old traditional house which is very cool. My class was run by the husband and wife duo and she was very knowledgeable. Our class had around 10 people and she spoke Japanese and English to the group. A fast a fun way to learn about kimchi (90mins or so) and they go walk around the area. Super cute! You do have to book in advance and they have a morning and afternoon class. After making your kimchi, you will get to eat kimchi pancake. Note on location. Love the kimchi making experience that is hands on yet not difficult. Teacher is very friendly, two instructors onboard to help and they speak a variety of languages: English, Japanese, mandarin and more.
We first tried on various hanbok costumes and accessories and took plenty of pictures. Subsequently we went to a clean cooking area and the instructors brought us through step by step.
Finally we get to store the kimchi in sealed bag (each bag can weigh 700g) so the ingredients given to us are very generous. We brought back to our home country to eat...

First, the course fees are pricey. They charged you USD35 (approx) for each person. The duration of the course is only 30 minutes. It is totally rip off.
Second, you don't know how to make kimchi even you finished attending this class. The owner only asked you to cut the radish and carrot. Then you put all the dressing into them. There is no technique at all.
Lastly, there were no kanbok wearing and it doesn't match with the advertisement that...
