A beautiful tranquil beach with turquoise waters and white sand on the north west of the island. It is clearly a trendy area, normally frequented by cool surfer types, I say normally because like all areas at the moment due to the Covid restrictions are very quiet. But anyway if you are staying nearby or perhaps drive up to the North to visit the volcano then this is a great stop over. We spent a couple of hours chilling on the beach in the hot sun, yes it was a bit breezy but thanks to the stone built wind breakers, once you lie down on your towel, you hardly notice the wind at all. Read moreBeautiful... favourite place to visit . Catch the bus from top of Correlejo on the cross roads . Fare Is 6.20 euro for x2 one way . Bus will drop you off at bus terminal or 5 mins from the beach. A few cafes and bars but nothing else in area . Beach is lovely and sheltered behind the Rocks in like a lagoon. At low tide you can walk quiet away across and their is a small shelf that drops down to shoulder height . Safe swimming but beware the wind can get quiet blowey and the tide a little stronger . Some building work is taking place near the beach looks like apartments? So the area may change over next few years . Definitely worth finding and not as many tourists as...
Read moreGreat beach! Beautiful white sand, contrasted against black volcanic rock and clear turquoise water. Offshore rocks protect against the impressive Atlantic waves, leaving wonderfully calm lagoons along the beach. West facing aspect affords amazing sunset views. Generally few crowds, except in peak season. Warm enough to tan all year round, but cool in the evenings. Would be 5 stars but for the ever-present wind and fairly run down state of the town. But prices are very reasonable. Wind can be avoided by using the natural stone shelters dotted around the beach....
