It is free, you just have to do a reservation by sending them an email. In the email you have to include the date and time you want to visit it, your contact number, the city or town you come from, and your name in order to complete the reservation. Gemma guide teached us a lot of things during our 45-minute tour. The furnitures are not the original ones of Lope de Vega, but original ones from the times he lived in. In our tour we were 5 people only. Gemma tried speaking good English, not like the most people from Madrid, whose English is very bad. It is the house Lope de Vega (1562-1635) lived during the years 1610-1635. You must go about 10 minutes before the assignment time, and you can wait in Lope de Vega's garden, which has some...

I had time and was just wandering around for my last day in Madrid. I stumbled in there because I was looking for a free museum to spend some time in. At the entrance they told me that we could only visit with a guide (free) and that it needed to be booked in advance but I was lucky - and the staff was exceedingly kind to offer - to be able to join a tour in english an hour later. The visit was very interesting, lasted about 45 minutes, and the guide very kind and knowledgeable. Although I didn't know the author before, I thourgouhly enjoyed my time visiting the house, and went and bought 4 pieces by Lope the very afternoon of my visit. I would have paid for that tour,...

Even if unkown for many people, Félix Lope the Vega was one of the greatest geniouses of the Spanish Literature, together with Cervantes. This house was his last home and is one of Madrid's treasures, since is one of the few places from the XVIth still preserved in the city. Ever after going under a deep restoration, you can still see how a "good house" was in the Madrid of the Hapsburgs. And it's free! The only "but" it can only be seen with a guided tour that you must book in advance, since only 12 people are allowed to visit it at a time and the groups fill up quickly. If not, you can always see the nice and romantic orchard, recreated exactly as it was at the...

Visiting the Casa-Museo Lope de Vega in Madrid was a captivating journey into the life and times of one of Spain's greatest literary figures. The guided tour offered a glimpse into the world of Lope de Vega, showcasing the restored house of the writer filled with authentic furniture, mirrors, books, and other artefacts. Our guide was exceptionally knowledgeable and brought the history of the house to life with engaging stories about Lope de Vega’s personal life and his impact on Spanish literature. The tour was both educational and enjoyable, the guide’s enthusiasm truly enhanced the visit, making the Lope de Vega House a highlight of my trip to Madrid.

The house-museum of Lope de Vega is located in the street named after his competitor Cervantes! This contradict is only a glance of the busy exciting life of this pilar of Spanish literature, as it is told by the museum staff. I was super lucky to be the only one in the English guided tour, and had very special care, and one to one time, thanks to Iris! The house is full of stories in every single corner, and offers inside view to the daily life of baroque era. You should write an email or call for reservation before the visit for confirmation. Free entrance. Young, full of energy team, with inspiring vibes around. Don’t miss it.
