Warning this 1 star review may reek of privilege: please remember we paid a silly amount of family savings money for what was supposed to be a fun family experience as VIPs. Please note: the kids loved the concert as there not knowing any better and our shielding them from the truth of what we spent for what we got until post concert review meant they did have fun. Review: Exterior of building graffitied in many spaces, litter and garbage piles as no bins available outside entry control points and one tiny bin available inside the first VIP coral (outdoor on terrace, little shade). Under various exterior metal floor grates are piles of stinking rubbish. No exterior bathrooms nor water drinking fountains available for public use anywhere along the exterior of the building, especially for those waiting in line-ups including in VIP line-ups. VIP Tate McRae at this venue was anything but VIP ( the actual Tate McRae concert and opener Beanie were excellent) Yes, we did get a private VIP sound test with the artist, our being forced to lineup in 2 different lines for this experience and then those lines meaning nothing as a stage rush meant those with families were outrun. Being let in VIP early did mean we got a fighting chance to get front row railing standing room, unfortunately the number of VIPs who rushed ahead meant the majority of us families were anywhere near center stage (luckily Tate did move throughout the stages often and you could feel close some of the time). The 5 hour + dehumanizing series of VIP line-ups that still ended in an uncomfortable stage rush and no dedicated VIP space to store belongings or have any guaranteed sightlines especially for smaller children and adults is definitely not VIP. It is a huge robbery of a family budget allocated to what should have been a positive experience (we shielded the kids from most of this and they loved it not knowing any better or how much it cost). Even with a VIP pass, needing permission to use a bathroom is just wrong. We even asked to go out to a Cafe nearby to use a bathroom as they wouldn't let us in, you could go out you just lost your tickets and right to return. If you were traveling alone you had to ask nicely of others to hold your various lineup spots (we did this for a number of others and our group) The merchandise plastic bag given at VIP check-in had to be carried around, placed at feet or held the whole +/- 8hour marathon of the event as no coat check or anything offered nor dedicated VIP space. The second line up for VIPs in the venue, pre-VIP Sound check event, meant little opportunity to go to the bathrooms now available for use without permission nor to look at the extremely high priced merchandise since your spot in the line should have translated to being a comparable distance to the Artist performance. Unfortunately, this line meant nothing either as an uncontrolled rush for a spot nearest where the artist was expected to sit (no actual confirmed info given that the lighted stage seat was going to be where the artist actually sat down). At least Madrid's football stadium has the courtesy to offer a grounds tour to paying customers. A tour is something they should have done for VIPs in numbered and controlled groups, these same groupings based on their arrival times given controlled access to the venue and selection of standing area in a controlled VIP only area. These tour groupings could have been offered a chance to use washroom facilities, purchase venue items such as food and merchandise etc etc. Other Note: Thank you to the Security Staff in the venue for first asking why I used a disposable camera to take a picture without first throwing me out of the venue for using a normal camera. This disposable camera was a merchandise gift in our VIP plastic bag, Tate branded, 8 exposures. The security staff was not informed of this disposable camera merchandise and did stop us, at first, as no non-phone cameras are apparently allowed in? The assigned seating audience definitely got the best...
Read moreAttended Wonho performance in the Sala BlackBox room. The sound and lighting were great, the Staff were lovely, the drinks were cold, but event was poorly organised and badly controlled. We arrived 2 hours early with general admission tickets, and joined the queue. When we were almost due to go in, a member of staff went along the queue advising us that the organisers had delayed gig/entry by 30 mins but that we would still see full show. We waited another half-hour in 29 degree heat, only to find the performance had started with a huge queue of people still outside (including us). Then there was a rush to get people in. After a mad dash up the stairs we were greeted by a sea of camera phones and couldn't see the stage or performance. I'm quite tall, but as the floor is one level and with so many people filming, it was really difficult to see anything at all and completely impossible when the singer sat down. On the website it advised filming was prohibited, but this was not enforced. I was really disappointed by the whole thing. I haven't attended other performances here or seen the other rooms, but I would be hesitant...
Read moreWorst venue that I’ve ever been! Located in a low income area in Madrid, hard to get in, It doesn’t have enough parking (if you’re lucky to get in, be ready to pay 13 euros per hour) and to find a spot on the street is near to impossible, had to park many blocks away from it that turned into a 20min walk. There are no proper signs to tell you where are the different entrances, as the property is shared with a supermarket so is really confusing where the actual doors are. Is full of stairs and not wheelchair accessible, the stairs are small so have your foot half way out which is dangerous. The staff is really rude, the seating really tight and uncomfortable and the visibility is bad and so is the audio. Seems it wasn’t properly built for this purpose plus they use a low quality engineer team to sound it, you can hear echo and squeaky sounds during the show, could hardly hear properly. A visit to the restroom can take over 30min as they don’t have enough for the people they let in. Artists should really think twice before arranging a show here. Such a shame, I couldn’t enjoy the show hence felt like a...
