Great little supermarket, just hidden away. Visiting Lidl in Gran Canaria was just like visiting Lidl in England, with a very similar layout including the famous ‘middle aisle’ of special buys. Along with all the essentials Lidl usually stock, there was a couple of surprises including Heinz baked beans. Prices were very good, especially compared to Hippo Dinner Express stores found in many resorts.
For people with Babies/Toddlers, there was a reasonable selection of great value baby products including a pack of 50 size 4 nappies for €7 and large jars (250g) of baby food for €0.79.
Obviously being Spain the Beer was cheaper per can/bottle than soft drinks or water!

The struggled to get the cashier system working smoothly, the employees are all trainees on the first day, and there is no sign of “Sorry.” Anywhere. Just make sure you don’t buy ice cream. It’s going to melt before you’ve the chance to pay for it.
Just to be clear: This is not a one-time experience here but the exact same experience 3 times in 7 days.
