Contemporary Art Center of Galicia — Attraction in Santiago de Compostela

The great thing about this spot is that it is free and you have a cafe in the back that you can hang out in. There are bathrooms downstairs which are super clean. They have constantly revolving new exhibits so it's really fun to come here regularly. Nearby there are some other museums as well. And of course you are very close to a bunch of really good cafes. There are some nearby parks so if you want to go for a small hike there is definitely plenty to do there. The stuff is pretty friendly and they will help you out and show you around if you ask. I think it's one of those gems of the city so definitely worth visiting and you get a sense of what the local community of artists are really involved in. I know it's a bigger installation and obviously not the small artists place of representing themselves but still an incredible asset...

El edificio es maravilloso la verdad es que vale la pena visitarlo sólo por la construcción y lo bien emplazado que está dentro del contexto histórico y situación. De las exposiciones que vimos no quiero hablar. Me llamo llamó la atención lo vacío qué estaba. Yo siempre pienso que los museos deberían tener sus salas ocupadas. Lo que no me gustó nada es cómo nos trataron por el hecho de ir con nuestra hija de 7 años qué ha visitado la mayor parte de los museos de arte moderno y contemporáneo de la geografía española y algunos fuera de ella. Iba con su patinete en la mano y antes de decir buenas tardes ya le estaban indicando que no se podía usar el patinete, algo evidente, ella sólo buscaba un lugar donde dejarlo. La verdad no deben ver a muchos niños, una pena tratándose de un museo o centro de arte y revisando sus objetivos. Pediría más amabilidad y acogida en este sentido, también en el recorrido de las exposiciones le llamaron la atención una vez por acercarse a una obra, no más que su padre o que otros usuarios. Creo que algunos de los trabajadores que nos tocaron en suerte ese día no han entendido bien el sentido del arte contemporáneo y su disfruté o no están habituados a tratar con niños. Probaremos suerte en otra ocasión ya que se nos atragantó un poco una visita que estábamos deseosos de hacer. Por otra parte quiero dejar constancia de que la niña se comportó adecuadamente en todo momento, ella misma nos preguntaba qué ocurría porque no entendía porque era tratada así. Por último no nos gustó la ubicación de la recepción y la tienda-librerías, no tiene sentido te diriges a la librería pensando que es...

I really enjoyed this museum. The door is hard to find; it's around the back through the cafe. If you are like me and need to have water with you at all times bring a small purse to hide your water. I was forced to check my backpack and after I started to walk away from the lockers with a water bottle in hand I was told I couldn't bring it in the museum. It was so hot outside I was dying. The cashier didn't care. Later on I think I set off the silent alarm in a panic to get to the cafe...
