Stayed here for 2 nights in the room on the top floor. Room seemed like it was in an attic. Paid on a booking app so wasn’t expecting the best room but this one was not great. The bathroom was super small and the shower was awful. The first night when we checked in, we had an AWESOME guy that helped us & was there the next morning for breakfast. Super helpful, patient and kind. Second day for breakfast we had a different gentleman and honestly he was not patient & was not very nice. Told us we had 10 minutes to finish our breakfast because the table was reserved, which was fine because we were almost done but he was quite pushy. On the website it says 5 euros per person for breakfast and we were charged 7 euros per person each day and honestly, not worth the money. If we had a redo, we wouldn’t have gotten breakfast there and honestly probably wouldn’t have stayed there. It’s also 700m from the cathedral, which if you’re walking the Camino, you could probably find a closer place to the cathedral that is much better & worth the...
Read moreI had a great stay at this small boutique-like hotel in the center of Pontevedra. It blends rural and historical style with modern elements and is within walking distance of everything. Super clean. Check-in was fast and efficient, and the staff was nice and helpful. The value for money? Unbeatable. We had a room with a balcony and lovely views.
Now let's talk breakfast: I'm a huge breakfast fan, and some reviews said it was too basic. Okay, it's not the most lavish breakfast I've had, but calling it "too" basic is an overstatement. While it's rather modest, it covers all the basic necessities one needs in the morning. Maybe I just expected more because I was so fond of this place.
I've stayed in hotels with more stars that didn't meet the standard of this one. I've mostly seen young people working in this hotel; they were all smiling and tried to anticipate my needs (which I’m not used to, so I was like, "Nooo, you don't have to do this"). That made the difference here: I could see how passionate the staff was...
Read moreI never post complains online but unfortunately this hotel is no good.
My stay is not even over yet but there’s no other way to explain how much I don’t recommend this place. It is not foreign friendly, even when spoken in Spanish, it was a mess to get details. There is no staff present in the hotel at night and the doors are locked to the outside so if there’s an emergency I guess we are done for. When the phone number in the reception was called I was rudely spoken to, had no information, a lot of “no comprendo” and a “I’m at home” ???????? What do you mean you’re at home??? When the staff arrived at the hotel they asked a guest to open the door for them... I’m sorry what? Now it’s almost 6 AM and I just have a bad taste in my mouth after this experience. If I could give it 0 stars I would.
