Älghägnet — Attraction in Göteborgs Stad

The open air zoo. This is another zoo near to barnens zoo. It has moose, goats, swans, ponies and peacocks as well. They do also have penguins which I am yet to find. Good place to visit for a children on a outing to explore nature and animals. They love interacting with animals. Do note that it is forbidden to feed the animals. Free zoo easily reached by public transport and a short walk from the city centre. The walk around the zoo doesn't take too long but there are nice spots with benches with viewpoints out over the city. We saw deer, moose, goats, sheep, ponies and swans. You can also see the penguins and seals being fed at certain points in the day but we arrived too...

Great zoo to visit with multiple animal enclosures. There are both land and water animals. A pony riding station is also available next to the children's zoo.

There are also large open fields for picnic if you walk towards the north east of the park.
