I travel more than I post. I try to be fair and balanced in my assessment of places I stay and go to. I feel like so many reviews have helped me, so I try to pay it forward whenever I can.||||Let's start with the positives. The location isn't bad and the view from our room and balcony was good but with a lake view hotel room in Montreux, you will get that anywhere over there. It's not a unique attribute. A member of staff named George was fantastic and went above and beyond for us. Really professional, with the level of service one would expect at a four star hotel.||Now to the negative aspect.||I was treated so arrogantly by a staff member named Aliman or Aiman. I don't think the spelling is correct so to describe him, I have to use physical characteristics, so it is clear who he is.||Balding, mid length hair with a goatee beard and I think, of Arabic descent.||||A wise man once told me that there are two types of people in this world. Winners, who treat people they way they wish to be treated themselves and losers, with chips on their shoulders and low self esteem, who need to demean others, so they can feel better about themselves and their achievements or lack, thereof.||It's obvious which category this worker falls into but it's surprising that a Swiss four star hotel would permit this kind of rot in their establishment.||||I work hard. I play hard. I travel the world. This kind of worker is irrelevant to me - people like this are a dime a dozen. I don't come across them often because of the circles I mix in but they exist, unfortunately.||||To anyone who reads this, what you do with the information I have given you is not going to change my life. With reviews like this, the service will elevate for a while but it will revert to what it naturally is and you may be on the receiving end of this kind of unprofessionalism and unfounded arrogance, as I was. I'm already two worlds above and beyond this, so while it didn't and does not affect me, it may well affect you and your vacation. I'll never know. It's your call. ||||Oh and the wise man I mentioned above is my Dad. He runs a multinational and asked me to scout out this hotel as a location for multi company annual conferences in Montreux, on my working vacation. I've obviously informed him of the service here. We shall be going elsewhere. ||||This hotel, quite simply, is not...
Read moreI stayed in this hotel with my family in 2019; It is probably the best location to stay in Montreux if you want to be close to the lake, which is the major draw of Montreux's beauty. The room has a decent size... the breakfast is ok. We had a wonderful stay overall, however the way I was treated on the last day left a very poor impression on my mind. I checked out and the process was smooth however the staff forgot to collect the key from me when I was leaving, although it is their responsibility because I believe that is a part of their job. I took a train after check out and reached Zurich and then after a couple of hours of reaching there I was told that I haven't deposited the key... When I asked them, that it was in my pocket and that they should have asked for it , they clearly said NO, it is my duty and that I have to come back and hand it over to them. When you are on a vacation and you are told to go back by train, compromising on your schedule, it is a pain and humiliation. They were NOT ready to send anyone to Zurich to collect it, though I told them that I will be in Zurich for 5 days. It was totally unprofessional on their part, and bordered on threat. Since they had my card details already in their system when I was checking in, I preferred not to take a chance... I still remember their tone and voice and it was a harassment. But that is not all. My child had forgotten to pack her slippers and when I was on my way in the train from Zurich to Montreux, my wife called me to tell me this. I thought that I will collect that as well when I hand over the keys. When I reached there, the first thing that hotel staff told me that why did they have to call me so many times before I could come... I was aghast at their behaviour.... And to top it all, they clearly denied that they found my child's slippers in the room... Finally I handed over the keys to them and can back very sad and disturbed... I WOULD NEVER ADVISE ANYONE TO STAY IN THIS HOTEL.... I think they have different attitude towards people from different countries... Unprofessional, arrogant and outrightly disrespectful staff members... The hotel is doing well ,only and only because of its location... Or else, they are just not worth it...And I am saying this after travelling to so many countries and staying at some of the best hotels in those...

My stay at the Eden Palace hotel has been so unsatisfactory that I'm writing this review right from my bed in the hotel.
Several negative points ruined the experience. The bathroom was in a deplorable state, with visible mold, which is unacceptable for a hotel of this caliber. Additionally, the room was poorly cleaned, leaving an overall impression of neglect.
The constant noise from the street, especially due to the numerous luxury cars passing by, made it nearly impossible to get any sleep. If you’re looking for a peaceful stay, this is definitely not the place.
It’s also worth mentioning that while Montreux is located by the lake, it lacks charm and seems to be in decline, with an unwelcoming atmosphere.
Another frustrating point: the shower screen was poorly installed, causing water to flood the bathroom floor after each use.
When it came to check-in, I was surprised to be required to pay for my reservation upfront—a practice that is usually done at check-out. On top of that, I had to provide my physical credit card, as Apple Pay wasn’t accepted. Rather than allowing me to settle into my room and return with my card, I was forced to retrieve it immediately, which felt like an unnecessary inconvenience.
Additionally, I paid an extra fee to bring my dog, but was extremely disappointed by the complete lack of services provided for him. No effort was made, not even a small bed or bowl. For the cost of the pet fee, you expect a certain level of service, which was unfortunately not met.
To add to the discomfort, there was no air conditioning in the room—only a noisy and outdated fan. I also had to take the fridge out of the closet and plug it in myself. The fridge itself was in poor condition, rusted, and clearly past its prime.
It’s common in Switzerland to pay high rates for establishments that don’t deliver the expected quality, and this hotel is a perfect example. The Eden Palace has potential, but it certainly does not live up to its exorbitant prices given the low quality of services and general condition.
Despite the potential for this establishment to be truly exceptional, I was deeply disappointed by the reality, as it fell far short of what it...
