Molino — Restaurant in Montreux

Nice modern interior in this restaurant close to the lake side. This restaurant is part of a chain and we have eaten at their other restaurants in geneva.

In this restaurant the pizza's came fast but as we were ordering 2 pizza's to share we did not get the service level as usual. The saleds we ordered as starters came only after the pizza s were on the table.

The first margarita pizza was very thin, had very little mozzarella on the dough and really was not satisfying us. Accordingly, we ordered another one pizza, which was of a much better quality.

We asked for tap water in addition to ordering wine and beer. To our surprise we were billed chf 4 for the water, without the waiter indicating that we would not be getting tap water.

Only afterwards we were told by another waiter that they serve filtered water, or sparking water that is charged at chf 4 per small bottle. We were not pleased by this surprise charge.

Overall nice and modern restaurant, the food is of good quality, but the service we received, and transparency of the charges, was not up to standards. Given the prices they charge, we expected a...

Not sure where to start, but our service was very slow(with almost an empty restaurant) one of the people from our table got a wrong dish and was waiting for the replacement a lot afterwards, while we were all eating our mediocre food(mediocre quality at best, this is not high quality Italian cuisine). Afterwards logically, we asked to delete that specific dish or give us some form of a discount for their poor service and mixup, to which the manager was very rude. He repeatedly stated that it was our mistake with bad communications and he didn’t like the way we approached him(he came to our table) and how we were talking to him(we addressed him in calm demeanor at first and obviously were a little upset after he denied the fact that we had poor service and they mixed up the food). After he argued with us for couple minutes, he walked away and then came back and decided to give us a small discount without any apology for his outlandish behavior or the poor service they “provided”.

Woww!!! Absolutely amazing. I was a little concerned about the low star ratings but most centered around pricing and service. First, in reference to the price, it's Switzerland. Everything is expensive. And the chf is a little stronger than the USD right now. Also gratuity is included and the VAT. Second, in reference to service, yes you have to pay for water. Our server was very nice though. He said he didn't speak any English but he tried very hard with us and it was appreciated.

In regards to the star of the meal, the food. Absolutely chef's kiss. Meal came out hot and tasty! My husband got the fresh made tortellini with the bolognese sauce. It was absolutely delicious. He even scooped up the remnants of the sauce with some of the bread. I got the fresh made tagliolini pasta fruits del mar style. The seafood was so fresh and delicious but the pasta was amazing. Perfectly cooked. 10/10
