Restaurant Dolce — Restaurant in Montreux

Worst restaurant ever literally! It is over priced! The waiters are not professional and ignoring customers’ requests! The waiters are not respecting the restaurant customers.

I came to the restaurant with my husband after long trip based on google reviews and we asked them for an english menu and they “ignored us” thus we used google translate to take pictures of the menu to translate it! I was not sure what to choose from the menu so I asked the waiter between 2 dishes and she recommended “Gnocchi dish” and she promised that it will be so delicious and great! I go with it and requested it; however, when I tasted it, it was so bad and it tastes like dough (like it was not cooked at all!) with extra extra extra mozzarella cheese! I ate a bite of it and then called the waiter to change the dish because I didn’t like it and I would like to change it. She said okay let me check with the manager to see if it is okay to replace and I said sure. I waited for 10 minutes and then she came and said no problem we can replace the dish with no “extra charge” and you will not pay for the new dish because it is a replacement and you didn’t eat the first one. So, I choose “a spaghetti with garlic and olive oil” from the menu and the dish was okay. Once we finished our dinner we asked for the bill and the waiters ignored us for 25 minutes even though we called them three times! When the waiter gave us the bill finally they charged us for both dishes, the replacement and the original one (although I didn’t eat it!!!) we explained them the situation again but she refused and kept saying “normally when you order sth you have to pay for it!” I told her I neither eat the dish nor I take it for to go! But she refused and she raised her voice sarcastically and keep saying “normally when you order sth you have to pay for it!”. We tried to negotiate and explain our point of view; however, she kept repeating the same statement with raising her voice!! Will never visit it again 🤢

We arrived in Montreux after travelling through France and Italy as our first visit to Switzerland where we found the views of the Alps to be stunning! We met in the Dolce restaurant with friends undicided if we wanted just drinks or meal as well. While me and my friend were waiting for our husbands we asked for the drinks menu. We were seated and left with no service. When our husbands arrived we asked for the food menu, which we were given but still not received the drinks menu that wasn't included in the food one. After looking at the food menu we decided that we were not that hungry and wanted just the drinks. The waitress brought the drink menu and gathered food menu. As she turned around and walked away she said out loud in English " probably to expensive anyway..." We felt this was rather roude and arrogant. Perhaps she heard us talking in Polish and didn't realised our home is in Scotland, my husband works in Belgium, but we felt that we were treated as second class citizens as comper to other customers in the restaurant at the same time. We stood up and left the restaurant.. I must sadly say that this does not encourage us to return to...

I would like to share my experience with this restaurant.

I ranked them -100 out of 100 based on the below reasons: overpriced compared to the taste. the waiters are so mean and unrespectable especially with the middle eastern folks’ as a Saudi Arabian guy i treated them respectfully not like the way they treated us “ this is how we have been raised thu” ‘ the taste of the dish was awful even though i brought my family with me most of the dishes are so bad.

Here is a message for you, we came here with our money not yours. The number of tourists whom from saudi and the other meddle eastern people who come to Europe is huge and helps the economy. Do not treat us differently because if you visited us you will be treated so good and i bit on this one.
