Worst checkout experience ever. Check in time is 4pm and checkout time is 11am without any consideration even for 1 minute early check in nor checkout later than 1 minute. 2 staff wearing specs on duty on 25 May 2025 during daytime, one male and one female should be terminated from the front desk service and exit hotel industry. Requested for late check out at 10.15am on that day but wasn’t granted even for 30 minutes with the reason one of my friends is a chronic disease patient under special treatment and we needed a bit of time to prepare ourselves. That guy wearing specs asked me to send my friend to the hospital instead of taking 30 minute extra in the room. Both of them asked us to pay NT300 for more 30 minutes late checkout. Sharp at 11am they called to urge for checkout. Every 10 minutes they called to the room whilst we ready and took a bit extra time to prepare for checkout. They even checked on the cctv to make sure we were out. They questioned my friend whom had a surgery but recovering to go to the hospital which I felt very insulting. They even asked for her ID card to make sure she’s the citizen and I was arguing with them that the 30 minute late checkout has nothing to do with taking her ID for verification. My friend was staying with us in the same hotel from 22-24 May whilst we stayed from 20-25 May for 2 bookings. The hotel is not worth for a long stay not just with the way they treated us for not granted that 30 minute of late checkout more so I even brought an extra booking for them since my friend made another new reservation in the same hotel just because to spend some quality times with us due to her sickness. She wasn’t able to return home and stayed the final evening with us with the approval from the night shift lady staff and they even provided extra blanket and bedsheet. These 2 fellars asked us to pay for the extra person on the last evening whilst it wasn’t informed by the night shift staff and the most stupid respond is they didn’t know the night shift granted us the approval for my friend whom checkout out from another booking stayed with us just for 1 evening. This has nothing to do with us with their miscommunication. They checked the cctv throughout to make sure we didn’t lie for what we explained. I’ve never felt so insulted by any hotel service like how GUIDE HOTEL Taichung ZiYou, 承携行旅 had done on 25 May 2025. Both with my friend whom is sick and my friend traveling with me.
The AC never worked properly. During the summer, the lowest can go until 25 degC and upon complaining they just mentioned it is normal. This is a ridiculous and brainless answer. Middle of the night, the entire main switch panel fallen and cutoff the entire power of the room. Again complained in the next morning but no action was taken, we had to fix ourselves. The housekeeping is the worst ever. Please do not expect cleaning service, they only replenished the towels, tissues and beverage. We have to wash the cups, clean the toilet, basin and table. For the whole week we stayed, never changed nor tidied up the linen nor pillow case. I only appreciate the staff working night shift between 23-24 May 2025 who were accommodating keeping our dried food in the chiller as the minibar in the room is hotter and higher temperatures than the room temperature. Well, everything is normal to them when the minibar and the room were hot. You just need to accept.
My visit to Taiwan was disastrous on our last day which ruined my entire experience. This is the third times and I won’t go Taiwan again because of the Taiwanese hospitality. Both of these hotel staff made a big mistakes in treating the guests. My Taiwanese friend felt so sorry with the situation and certainly ashamed with the hospitality we received on the day we departed...
Read moreCommunications: 10/10 They are good at communicating with English, so it is not intimidating to ask them about everything. They use LINE to communicate, so make sure to download LINE app if you're going to be quarantined here. They also answer even late at night and early in the morning like they never sleep. 😅 Their staff are very well-trained and well-mannered.
COVID-19 preventive measures: 10/10 The moment I got here, their initial response to the guest is not intimidating at all. They welcome you while being protective from the virus. The steps are easy and can be followed, and since their staff speak English, it is easy to communicate and ask them about what you don't know. They have CCTV that will watch over you and reminders that you should not leave your room
Food and water services: 10/10 They deliver breakfast at 5AM, lunch at 11:40AM, and dinner at 5PM. This is good because they are safe time in case someone's adjusting their time to the timezone of Taiwan. Moreover, they would inform you of your food through LINE as to not wake you up early in the morning if through phone call. Drinkable water is already prepared in the room but you can ask for more bottles once you ran out.
There is also heater for shower and in my one-week of stay, I never once ran out/had problems with running water here, cold or hot.
Room: 10/10 Nice room and lights. There are two kinds of curtains, the one to dim your room and another one for total black out. I use the latter when I want to prolong my sleep. The aircon is good too. The temperature in the room is maintained well. You cannot go out to the balcony but you can still look at the streets since the window is transparent glass. Bathroom is big too. There is a TV, Mini-ref, termo pot (electric water boiler), slippers and other necessities.
WIFI: 7/10 I lost my original wifi connection at my 4th day of stay. I have no idea why but all my devices failed to connect. They gave me an alternative internet name and it worked, however, since the TV is connected to the original WIFI, even in my last day, I couldn't use the TV at all.
overall a good experience and a good hotel. 10/10...
Read moreI, myself extremely love every aspect of this hotel. Check in was smooth, you just had to use the counter, enter your booking details and get your receipt & room keys, and proceed to the hotel! I'm not sure why Google maps register this as a 3 star hotel, cause I think it deserves 5 stars! The lobby itself is fancy, and there's underground parking provided too, for free if you're a guest from 3pm to 12pm the day you check out. However, it's tight, especially for big cars, and the ramps is only one way, which requires skill to enter the underground parking.
Parking aside, I love the room! We got room 505, on the 5th floor [definitely not the song 505 by arctic monkeys reference]. The room itself was extremely big! Bathroom was big, and there was a huge sort of tea-time area with a small tea table. The plugs are perfect, as they support international plugs. The view is great, and they provide a lot of towels, bottled water, a seating area for you tow work, soap, toothpaste, toothbrush and all of that! Every aspect is great! You can even change the main lights to different colours, like green, orange, or even red! There's also a dining area on the 2nd floor for the breakfast area.
All is great, except the aircon panel. We can't find the way, or whether there even is a way to turn off the bright, white light coming off from the aircon panel. So we had to sleep with the extreme bright sun-like light coming from the aircon panel, which is a disappointment. To be honest, I really wanted to stay here longer, but we only stayed here for 1 night and checked in around 11.30pm.. which is sad, but I would come back to this hotel...
