CHECK inn - Taichung ZiYou — Hotel in Taichung

I’d be very careful of all the 5 star reviews submitted as I booked this hotel based on these reviews, however if you look closely you’ll see that it is very VERY likely many of these reviews are bots (they all follow a very similar script/formula). The outside of the hotel and the lobby makes it appear like a boutique hotel, but the rooms are far from this. The walls are all lined with faux brick walls, making it appear very tacky. The floors are an ugly brown carpet. The actual room interior continue with the tacky wallpaper. Rooms are small but are on par with a budget hotel. The bed is very firm, which could be a good or bad thing. The showers and toilets share the same space with no separation causing wet floors when needing to use the toilet. When I first arrived there was a cockroach in the bathroom floor. Walls are very very thin and I could hear the voices/and or TV of the floor either above or below me all night. No ear plugs were provided and I made sure to get a pair for my second night. The AC didn’t work when I first arrived and they needed to reset the AC, though after that it worked nice and cool.

You get what you pay for. It’s a budget place to stay, and honestly I feel like Check Inn bought this place and gave the outside/lobby a face lift to lure you in. I find the number of bot reviews very deceptive. If you need a cheap place by the train station, I suppose it’ll work. But make sure to bring ear plugs. Overall, definitely deserves the one star...

This is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in Taichung, Taiwan. Although the room might not be very big as you thought, it is the perfect size for myself with one person’s 7-day stay in February, 2022. I really had a very pleasant and enjoying stay and I will definitely come again in the near future. It is truly 5 out 5 stars ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ in my opinion, and I am highly recommend it !

The front desk personnel are super friendly nice people. They helped us as they can when we needed them.

When I need the extra supplies, such as bottoms of water, tissue paper, etc.., they sent to my room right way. When we ordered take out food, the staffs did sent them to me as quick as within their workload allows.

Appreciated all staffs in CHECK inn ! Owing to their dedication, hard work and friendly attitude, it really made me feeling at home...

Self-service check-in and check-out. If you want breakfast, you need to pay 200 NTD, take a receipt and go to a neighboring hotel in the morning. The bed, mattress, pillows, blanket - it was all so comfortable and wonderful for me that it is difficult to describe in words. I think that a bed is too individual a thing and it suited me🥰. There was a little noise from the street, but it did not bother me. Overall, the room is good, the only thing I would like to pay attention to is the quality of cleaning. The table was in some marks, so it was unpleasant to put things there. The bathroom was also in stains.
