Wow! Visiting Thermal Valley feels like stepping into a fantasy world! Known as the "Hell Valley", this spot in Beitou is one of the coolest (or hottest, literally) places you can explore.
As soon as you arrive, you’re greeted by a surreal scene of steam rising from emerald green water. It’s like a giant natural cauldron bubbling away! There’s a faint sulfur smell, but nothing too overpowering. The warm, steamy air gives the place a cozy spa-like vibe—but don’t even think about dipping your feet in. The water is seriously HOT (80-100°C)!
Why You Should Visit:
Stunning Views: The entire area is picture-perfect. Whether it’s the steam, the water, or the surrounding greenery, every angle is a masterpiece.
Photo-Worthy Spots: Trust me, your Instagram feed will thank you. Thermal Valley’s unique scenery is unlike anything else.
Relax and Unwind: It’s a calm, peaceful place to wander around and just take in nature’s wonders.
Tips for Your Visit:
Come in the morning or late afternoon for the best lighting and thickest steam.
Check out the nearby Beitou Hot Spring Museum to learn more about the history of the area.
Bring a bottle of water—walking around in the warmth can get a bit dehydrating.
Final Thoughts: Thermal Valley is more than just a place to see; it’s an experience you won’t forget. If you love nature, unique landscapes, and jaw-dropping views, this spot is a must-visit in Beitou. Highly recommend it for anyone looking for something...
Read moreBeautiful hot springs. Sulfur smell is great, a whole experience. This is the main and the most famous one known as Thermal Valley but there are many others in the area. If you have time, the area deserves a full day/ weekend to get know due to that there's a lot of stuff to do related to the hot springs and their history. I will start visiting the central park, the library and the hot springs museum (highly recommended). In that part you can watch hot springs too. Al the end of the day I lol go finally to thermal valley. Regarding food, as it was a Japanese influenced area, thera are a lot of ramen restaurants, so I'll definitely try one. As it in a extense area and the hot springs are the main attraction I highly recommend to stay in a hotel for a full weekend to relax where you will able to book a sauna in the hot springs and a massage. There is also a traditional Japanese-style house that nowadays is the Beitou museum, a couple miles from the thermal valley that I suggest visiting. Pd. There is a national park called Yangmingshan close to there that deserves specific time just for that and if you are a visitor in Taipei it is a...
Read moreA blissful geological monument, particularly on a cool day when there are more vapours. It's just a metro ride from central Taipei. You can walk a few kilometers from Xin Beitou metro station. Although the walk is not really pleasant, passing through a dilipidated township and speeding automobiles on a narrow road, not to mention the mediocre meal options in Beitou, the atmosphere of the valley itself will make you feel like being directed to New Zealand or somewhere else people lives long and healthy. Be sure to see Japanese Era pictures (and a lot more displays about Beitou) at perfect Beitou Hot Spring Museum, and get a genuine dip in thermal water (free shared bath or private bath) when you...
