It's clear that many of these 5 star reviews were given simply because they got their room upgraded (see review history in which many state this)
Initially I was taken by the charm and design of this hotel and loved the hot spring bath in my room.
However in terms of accommodation I could not recommend this to anyone. I booked this as a luxury stay for my last night in Taiwan before taking two (long haul) flights the following day.
There is absolutely no sound isolation. I felt like I was lying on the road as I could hear everything happening outside, there was a dog constantly barking, the pipes in the building as well as the air conditioning in my room were making whirring noises. I barely slept and it has left such a bad taste in my mouth especially considering I paid 3528 twd for the room.
I found the hotel booking.com but I wanted to pay the property directly since I read it was family run yet they charged me more than booking.com price.
The next day when I mentioned the lack of sound insulation and that I hadn't slept to one of the staff members they just smiled and changed the subject.
It was disappointing, not at all worth the money and deceitful for the hotel to bribe other goers to leave 5 star reviews on the basis they get a...
Read moreI can’t rave enough about this charming boutique hotel. The staff is warm, welcoming, and genuinely attentive, and the rooms are spotless. It’s clear they take great pride in their service and truly care about their guests’ comfort. Even the towels and bedding smell wonderfully fresh—I suspect they use high heat to sanitize, which for a clean freak like me is priceless!
We received bottled water daily, and although we requested no fresh linens each day, housekeeping still stopped by to empty the trash and replace our towels. The soaking tub, filled with mineral spring water, is enormous—perfect for two—and the bathroom even features a bidet for extra comfort. The location is peaceful and quiet, yet incredibly convenient, with a bus stop right out front that takes you directly to the metro station. The entire property has a relaxed, old-world charm that makes it so easy to unwind. I’d stay here again and again without...
Read moreWe were pleasantly surprised by the size of the Deluxe Family Room and Kate had meant for the room to be a surprise for Tom. At $300 a night, it was not particularly cheap but had an attached hot spring bath tub inside! Yup! You can soak in the waters of Beitou hotspring right in the comfort of your own room in Kyokusui Hotspring Hotel (曲水會館)! Reminded us of our stay at Konansou Mount Fuji Hotel where we had our private onsen bath with views of Mount Fuji as well. The bath tub is laid with concrete tiles which remains cool for areas that are not in contact with the hot spring waters. When the hot spring waters first comes out, you’ll see a murky colour which runs to clear, showing the minerals that are in this hot spring and indeed, our skin felt a little softer after each dip.
