TL;DR: Lovely Japanese onsen. Located on the 5th floor of "Grande Centre Point". ฿750 for walk in, ฿650 when booked online at Klook. Massages also available, but at additional cost. Lots of onsen pool choices, and yes you gotta be naked in the bath/onsen area. ATK no longer required. Overall very nice, would recommend.
The longer stuff: Amazing onsen experience. Perfect place to experience authentic onsen without having to actually visit Japan, especially when Japan is still under lockdown.
Walk in price is 750 Baht, but you can book online for the price of 650 Baht via Klook (other sites also available I belive). Massages are also available at extra cost. Please note that this review is only about the onsen experience as I have not tried out any of their massages (I'll definitely give it a go in the future though! 😄)
The place is located on the 5th floor of "Grande Centre Point" hotel in Thong Lor area. It's around a kilo walk from BTS Thong Lor Station. No obvious sign from the outside. You can just walk into the hotel and use the elevator.
As noted by other reviews, ATK test are no longer required.
You'll first be greeted with the reception staff at the front counter where they'll give you a wrist band to access your locker. Next up a staff will take your shoes in exchange for a pair of flip flop to be used inside. Staff members are friendly and helpful, though some of them may not speak perfect Thai. Inside, a staff will hand you a package containing a bathrobe for the gender neutral zone, large towel to dry yourself off after shower, and a small towel to be used in the bath/onsen area.
Once inside the locker area, you are required to go completely naked before entering the bath/onsen area. You can only bring a small towel they provided into this area.
You are then expected to have a shower (on a tiny plastic chair) before dipping yourself into any of the onsen pool.
After a shower you'll have the option of 5 different onsen pools, a steam room, and a sauna. This is from the male side, but I assume it's the same for female area as well.
Onsen pools available are: 16°c, 36°c, 37°c, 40°c, 42°c. With all of them having different properties. One of them being a whirlpool type. Description and thermometer is displayed for each one of them.
You may want to follow the recommendation sign that specify the order of the pool you should use. I only noticed that sign in the end after I went on a very random order lol
Extra towels are offered inside. One being a cold refreshment towel in a large container of ice. And a towel for sauna, of which you can use as a seat I belive.
Word of warning: the 16°c pool is really cold, especially if you been in a warmer one prior to that. And the seat in the steam room is literally burning, definitely don't directly sit on it without having a feel of it first.
Outside of the onsen area, in the gender neutral area, there are: the relax area where you can just chill and play on your phone, a hot stone room, and there's another room of which I can't remember what it was 😅
There's no time limit, so you can be here as long as you want.
Overall a very nice and relaxing experience. It's my first time in a Japanese (though in Thailand lol) onsen. Would definitely return and highly recommend to anyone that...
Read moreI am more disappointed with this rating than you are. I went for my birthday for the first time to the onsen and a two hour massage. When I went early in the morning, the bath was heavenly. The problem started to happen when I went in for my massage. The masseuse did not follow the diagram at all and spent more than 80% of the time on areas that I did not ask for the focus areas I needed work almost completely neglected. I tried to tell her, but I kept figuring she was going to use the remaining time on it until I ran out of time. For the areas she did massage, it was very lackluster like she was trying to get it done and over with. I tried to put it behind me and enjoy the bath for the remainder of the day. By that time, the afternoon crowd started coming in. The problem isn’t so much with the facilities as the quality of the clientele and the lack of intervention by the staff. There was a woman going through a full scrub down in the sauna just flaking her skin everywhere with a thorough exfoliation for at least 20 minutes. I stared at her from the bath, and she had no shame and continued like she didn’t care. A staff walked past and did nothing to stop her. Then a woman started cleaning out her nostrils snorting and hacking out her lungs of whatever phlegm was in her clogged nostrils at the shower area before proceeding to the bath area and having another bath from the cold water rinse down. I can’t even begin to describe what she was trying to do because I am at a loss. I am just glad I got there early in the day before and had a very satisfactory experience before the wrong people ruin everything for everybody. If the staff had actually intervened and did some clean up I wouldnt be so disappointed with the cleanliness because we all know that the skin bits she flaked off is now in between the wooden boards and near impossible to get out. So, I would recommend experiencing the onsen only in the mornings but skip the massage. And maybe skip the women’s sauna on the right side, middle bench. I had much better massages for a quarter of the price elsewhere. Maybe they were good before but now it it’s kind of overrated. And their mango sticky rice was abnormally small for the experience i paid for. The snacks were fine but ive seen too much in one day to be...
Read moreLet’s Relax Spa offers a well priced array of massages, scrubs, wraps, sauna, and onsen. There are not words for how amazing their onsen is! Firstly, it is simply just beautiful, with modern design and high tech equipment, yet traditional wood as material for comfort and grounding.
Then, there is the dedication to quality in every aspect of their operations. Not only is the service outstanding with warm greetings from the staff and managers alike, but also in terms of massage services, their masseuses are well trained and professional. I tried both the 60min Thai massage and the 60min foot massage. I love that the first thing they do is soak and wash your feet in a warm bath for you. For the Thai massage, they were firm yet controlled with their strength and able to get a few cracks out of my tired back. For the foot massage, I got to lie back on a thickly padded leather chair, while the skilled masseuse worked at my weary shins and feet with great meticulousness, while applying both hot and cold compresses in between. So amazing!
And that’s just the massage. The onsen will blow you away!! There are 5 different types of baths you can soak in — soda, whirlpool, silk, gero, and cold. And there is a sizable steam sauna and dry sauna. You can choose from 3 different “paths” of onsen therapy: beauty, relaxation, and health. While there many steps to each path, you can always refer back to the wall chart in between dips to remind yourself what to do next. The onsen section is extremely well designed, allowing guest to check in with an electronic waterproof wristband that also acts as the locker key. Genius. While the male and female baths are separated, there is a relaxation room for you to meet the other gender while cooling off, although you should remain quiet.
For most packages, they offer a small mango and sticky rice dessert after the massage and before the onsen. I also love their refreshing pandan water that helps detoxify your body and rehydrates you further after a massage.
Overall, I can only highly recommend this spa to anyone who appreciates great value, service, massage and onsen!! Love love love!! Will definitely be back for more whenever I’m...
