Suvarnabhumi International Airport is also known as Bangkok International Airport (New). The airport is located in Racha Thewa, Bang Phli District, Samut Prakan Province, about 25km east of downtown Bangkok. With an area of 32.8 square kilometers and a capacity of serving more than 45 million passengers per year, this airport is among the busiest airports in the world and is also the leading international air transport hub in Southeast Asia.

SUVARNABHUMI AIRPORT TERMINALS

Suvarnabhumi Airport currently has 2 passenger terminals including: 01 main terminal, 01 satellite terminal. Details of the airport terminals are as follows:

Main terminal

It can be said that, up to this point, the main terminal of Suvarnabhumi Airport is considered one of the largest airport terminals in the world, with a total area of 563,000 square meters upon inauguration, including 8 floors. The design style of the terminal is also extremely unique with a tubular corridor made of steel, surrounded by glass.

The functions of each floor of the main terminal include:

Floor B: Airport Rail Link (ARL) subway station. ARL is the subway line connecting Suvarnabhumi Airport with central Bangkok, the last stop is Phaya Thai Station. 1st floor: Arrival hall for group guests, offices of airlines. 2nd floor: Pick-up point for domestic and international flights. 3rd floor: Airport waiting area. In addition, there are entrance/exit areas from the parking lot, restaurant system, shops, etc. 4th floor: Departure hall for domestic and international flights. Here are concentrated check-in areas, security control counters, duty-free shops, etc. 5th floor: Star Alliance office. 6th floor: Restaurant system. 7th floor: Observation deck.

Satellite Terminal 1 (SAT1)

This is a new terminal that will officially be put into operation from 2023. It includes the extended concourses of the main terminal. The satellite terminal has 4 floors with 28 boarding gates and a capacity of serving about 15 million passengers per year. Possessing a baggage handling system, an automatic check-in system and a transfer subway, the satellite terminal is said to be closely connected to the main terminal, to support and expand the main terminal of...

I recently had the pleasure of experiencing Suvarnabhumi Airport during my travels, and I must say, it exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I stepped foot inside, I was greeted with an atmosphere of cleanliness and order that immediately set the tone for a fantastic journey.

First and foremost, the cleanliness of the airport was remarkable. Every corner, from the restrooms to the waiting areas, sparkled with immaculate upkeep. It's evident that the staff takes great pride in maintaining a pristine environment for travelers.

Organization is key in any airport, and Suvarnabhumi Airport excels in this aspect. The layout is intuitively designed, making navigation a breeze. Clear signage and helpful staff members ensured that I never felt lost or confused during my time there.

Speaking of staff, I was consistently impressed by their friendliness and willingness to assist. Whether it was providing directions or offering recommendations for dining options, their warmth and professionalism made my experience truly memorable.

And let's talk about the food! Suvarnabhumi Airport boasts an impressive array of dining choices, catering to every palate. From local delicacies to international cuisine, there's something to satisfy every craving. Plus, the quality of the food surpassed my expectations for airport dining.

One aspect of the airport that pleasantly surprised me was the presence of Masjids inside. As a traveler who values cultural inclusivity, I was delighted to see such thoughtful accommodations for Muslim travelers. It's a testament to Suvarnabhumi Airport's commitment to catering to the diverse needs of its visitors.

Overall, my experience at Suvarnabhumi Airport was nothing short of excellent. From its cleanliness and organization to the helpful staff and delicious food options, every aspect exceeded my expectations. I would highly recommend this airport to any traveler looking for a seamless and...

I had an okay shopping experience here. The lady who helped me pick out perfume was very helpful and kind. She is mostly why I’m even giving this rating 2 stars. But in other areas of the shop I was looking at, some of the workers I felt were really pushing products towards me I really did not want or need and kept trying to get me to buy them even when I politely declined.

In the make up area I was looking at lip balm and the lady wasn’t very helpful. She just stared at me as I was trying to decide which one I wanted and anytime I would reach out to pick an item she insisted getting the box for me which I found a bit odd as she did not communicate with me much. She would not really allow me to handle and observe the items for myself. When I finally did decide on one she handed me a more beat up version of the lip balm box which I didn’t think too much of but once arriving home and opening up the lip balm it looked as if it had been open and there were little black flakes and dust particles on top of the balm. This was highly disappointing as I can’t go back to try and ask to exchange it. I just ended up scraping off the top layer so that I can use it.

Overall, This has been one of the more negative duty free airport shopping experiences I’ve had compared to other international airports I’ve shopped at. The prices are either the same as you would get in your home country with the taxes added or a bit higher. Even with the “discount” I felt as though I was not getting the best deals here. I opted out of buying any food, candy, snacks, or tea as the prices for these were higher than you’d find in the city even in more...

King Power is truly a shopping paradise for travelers! From the moment you step inside, you’re greeted by a bright, modern, and spacious environment that makes browsing an absolute pleasure. The range of products is incredible — from world-class luxury brands, designer fashion, premium cosmetics, perfumes, and watches, to local Thai specialties and souvenirs you can’t find anywhere else. Everything is neatly displayed, making it easy to find what you’re looking for (and even discover a few things you didn’t know you needed). The staff here are exceptional — warm, welcoming, and always ready to assist with a smile. They really take the time to help you choose the right product, answer your questions, and even offer recommendations you might not have thought of. The checkout process is smooth and efficient, and the duty-free prices make it even more worth the visit. One of the highlights is the convenience — whether you’re shopping before your flight or just visiting the city, King Power offers fantastic services like packaging, tax refund assistance, and delivery to the airport. Everything is designed to make your experience stress-free and enjoyable. Whether you’re here for luxury shopping, picking up gifts for loved ones, or simply exploring the best of Thailand’s retail scene, King Power delivers on every level. This is more than just a store — it’s an experience you’ll look forward to every time you come to Thailand! Highly recommended!

Inexplicably popular, horribly overpriced tourist tat located at Suvarnabhumi Airport. Luring the gullible into buying things they don’t need and will likely give them a heart attack. The high street or market is much cheaper for every product in pretty much every country on Earth. Post of the products are produced specifically for “duty free” shops in gift pack formats. The prices are extortionate. Today I noticed a 300gm bar of Cadbury’s chocolate for B470 which is around £12. The same bar of chocolate in a U.K. supermarket would cost around £3. It’s an absolute rip-off. Save your money, and buy what you need when you get home - it’s all available and for much less. Cashiers annoyingly ask for your passport and then even more annoyingly ask you to sign something. This company should be ashamed.
