Bangkok Airport also is known as Suvarnabhumi International Airport. It is Thailand’s biggest airport, and it has many ways to travel in/out of it without having to pay a lot of money.
Yes, it’s one of the coolest transport hubs in the world when it comes to buses and train system. I suggest you do your research first (Bus and Train System) and then you will see how inexpensive it is to travel to/from the airport.
If you have a lot of bags( 2 or more), then I suggest you have the hotel, resort or take a taxi to bring or pick you up. Here is when you spend most of your money. I live in Jomtien (South Pattaya), and I have used a private car which only cost me 1,300 baht one way.
Train fare runs typically 90 baht to Bangkok Pkaya Thai, and then you have to transfer to the BTS line which you have to pay again. This time it depends on where you want to go on the BTS in Bangkok. Each stop has a different cost which does not exceed 90 baht.
Bus fare runs typically 120 bahts from the airport to Pattaya, but if the weight of your bags more than 20 kg it cost 20 - 40 baht a bag. There is no train system to Pattaya at this time, but they are working on one for the future.
Hope my information help those that like to use the local resources and experience their travel. There is a lot of things you will see and learn when using the train system in Thailand. You will find out most of the major hotels are located within...

Vast areas of glass and concrete which gives a modern though cold impression. Many many shops, duty frees and food choices (they don't come cheap). Extremely clean airport and all its facilities (toilets etc). Easily accessible from phaya Thai station with ARL train (around half an hour) and the fee is 45 thb. Keep in mind to come earlier (at least 2+h) before your flight if it's an international one because the queeing can be unbelievable during peek season. I must say though that everything flows in an organized and quite quick manner as far as the procedures and staff concerned. i recommend using BKK as connection hub because in my opinion tickets come cheaper and there is a vast variety of destinations. Used by legacy carriers mostly, as low budget airlines mainly use Don Mueang airport (except Thai vietjet which uses...
Read moreBest Option to get to Phaya Thai station from Airport. At only 45baht, it takes about 51mins. My return trip took me 30mins.
Comparing to Grab, which I had to wait for 13mins for the car to arrive at the pickup point and helplessly hoping that the driver won't cancel the booking, the Rail train is more deterministic and assuring.
Follow directions to B1 and when you will see the Mango stall on the left side and Money changer on the right, you will see the Travelator to the Entrance/Exit of the Station. You can buy tickets at the human manned counter next to the Entrance/Exit. 45 baht to the last station (Phaya Thai). You will be given a round black token to scan at the Entrance/Exit gate.
After the Entrance/Exit gate, go downstairs to the station. Any escalator, stairs or lift will do to get you downstairs. When the train arrives, do wait for all to depart and for security to do a sweep through all cabins. Doors will close during the sweep. When doors reopen, you can enter the train.
Have a good, comfortable, clean and...
