Blue Mango Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Patong

Whilst staying at the Twin Sands I never had the pleasure of dining at the Blue Mango. On the night I decided to visit it started to drizzle with rain so the only option I had was to dine inside which I declined. I headed over to the Kitchen Table instead. I did however get to try one of the Blue Mango dishes, the Caeser Salad (chicken), which I ordered for room service (390 baht + 100 baht room service charge). The dish came well packaged and the portion size, whilst not generous, was sufficient. They hit the mark with the dressing and I loved the crispy bacon, probably the best I've had. However, the chicken, the main component of the dish, was very dry, a real disappointment. I have found the quality of western dishes to be a bit hit and miss in Thailand, especially dishes like a Caeser Salad or something trickier like an Eggs Benedict but providing fresh, tender chicken should not be difficult for an upmarket establishment, so hence my disappointment and 3...

This is a great venue for dinner. They have an extensive range of Western and Thai dishes. We had the three course special, which consists of an appetizer, a main and a desert, for 400 Bhat. Very reasonable price. The drinks are not overly expensive either. The food was delicious and portions were perfectly sized. It was enough to satisfy a good appetite, but not so much that I had anything wasted at the end of the meal. The service was incredibly prompt and so polite. Underwhelmed by the restaurant itself. This is marked as a beautiful restaurant on google with high ratings. It’s just a small hotel restaurant with okay food. There is no reason it should be touted as anything but a hotel restaurant in my opinion.

Things are marked gluten free but they are different than what is marked on the online menu. Don’t expect to get the chicken satay or the spring rolls like I was.
