Malta Köşkü, also known as the Malta Pavilion, is a historic imperial Ottoman residence located within the garden of the Yıldız Palace in Istanbul, Turkey. The two-storey pavilion was commissioned by Sultan Abdülaziz (reigned 1861–1876) as a hunting lodge, designed by the architect Sarkis Balyan in the neo-baroque style and completed in 1870. The pavilion, perched atop a steep hill, is one of the two lodges of its art within the Yıldız Park, the other one being the Çadır Pavilion (Çadır Köşkü). It is located at the north side of the wall separating Yıldız Palace. There are also two watching and resting pavilions in the grove being the rear garden of Çırağan Palace from the Abdül Aziz I period. The origin of the name comes from the executive use of limestone from Malta, which is the prominent material used. Malta Kiosk is an example of westernised architecture of the 19th century. The building was constructed by Sarkis Balyan and his brothers. During the Abdül Mecid I period, the architects have been influenced by the European architecture and motifs of nature, flowers, fruits and hunting animal figures have been widely used on the walls. Round marble columns, terraces, bedrooms, wooden and crystal halls have features like neo-classical, neo-Islamic and neo-Ottoman characteristics. The arches in S and C shapes originated from the Rococo style. Columns, palmets or sea shells have been added to the keystones of the arches. The baroque style of the 19th century has been reflected with oval windows, fluted cornices, flushed columns with small tower on ends. The vertical and horizontal elements have been balanced in the Empire style symbolising the Napoleonic period under the influence of Egyptian and Roman architecture.

Malta Mansion is one of the must-visit places in Istanbul. This historical mansion, much like Istanbul itself, has a rich history. Built in the 19th century, this structure reflects the grandeur and aesthetics of that era. The magnificent gardens of Malta Mansion blend with the dazzling sea view. This place is not just a historic building but also a paradise adorned with the beauty of nature. Visiting it even once offers an unforgettable experience for history and nature enthusiasts. The interior of the mansion is equally enchanting. Filled with historical details and artifacts from the era, this place is an ideal stop for those who want to explore Istanbul's historical and cultural richness more closely. In conclusion, visiting Malta Mansion is not just a tourist excursion but also a fantastic opportunity to discover the history and beauty of Istanbul. When you visit this historical site, you will immerse yourself even deeper into the captivating atmosphere of Istanbul.

If you visit Istanbul you also need to take in some of the history. I'm sure everyone wants to visit the Sultan ahmet ( Blue mosque) and the Haga Sofia -all a must do. But also a must do is the Dolombache Palace that is more about the recent history of the Ottoman rule. Shows how the Sultans lived in sections of the private and public areas. The carpets and the chandeliers of the Palace are simply amazing Som great photo opportunities overlooking the Bosphorous. For those interested an audio guide in your choice language is available The palace has an entrance fee approx 90 Turkish Lira for adults. 60 for a limited tour ( also a good deal)

A place that I would recommend every one who visit Istanbul to visit it... In the middle of a crowded area called Beşiktaş you will be shocked to find such a huge park like Yıldız park! You have to ride a car to have a full round in it, inside it there an ancient small Palace that was changed into a restaurant. The food is amazing and the view is fabulous The prices are very reasonable specially when you feel yourself eating like an Ottoman Sultan of that era.

An outstanding view, a beautiful inner decoration. A perfect breakfast in the heart of Yildiz park, feels like a royal breakfast actually (the building inside looks like a palace). I came for the open buffet and everything tasted just great! And comparing the atmosphere with the taste and view, I was surprised that it is NOT expensive at all ! Very recommended if you like a new breakfast experience!

The food is delicious and the place is great. The food they’re serving is not easy to find. Even if you find it, it’s gonna be pricey. So if you wanna try old traditional Ottoman food this is a excellent place with acceptable prices and great view. There is no food service inside the köşk. Name of the food: 1 Kirde kebabı 2 Fırında antrikot 3 İstanbul kebabı 4 Bademli limonlu tavuk
