We had breakfast at 1900 tl per head. Please avoid it is the summary. Maybe lunch/dinner better but can't comment as not tried.
Breakfast involves a spread of items served at your table. There are further items mainly dessert laid out buffet style elsewhere.
There is a variety of bread served. Unfortunately only some of them are served warm. The pretzel was cold and dry, as well as the baguette. As a Michelin guide restaurant which is fairly pricey (which is why I'm more critical of the food), they have missed a simple must do which is to warm the bread. For the cold spread, the cheeses and cold meats were excellent especially the pastrami. The honey and jam was good. Salad was nothing special just raw but well sourced vegetables. For the omelette it was a big fail. You'd think a place like this knows how to make omelette. Here we get a thin rubbery piece of oily omelette. Pan fried like a crepe and overdone with no cream. No fluffiness even as an American style quick omelette. The halloumi was worse. It only had slight browning on the edges showing signs of undercooking. True enough, a bite of it revealed no crispy textures on the edge and just a thick rubbery chew... raw. Maybe it's on purpose but it's such a waste of good halloumi to not properly cook it. There was also a beef mince pastry but it was
Read moreI tried randomly to select a restaurant for dinner with a close view to Bosporus with my family (4 persons), unfortunately my unlucky search took me to this place, I am very upset and sad to spend time there, first of all when we entered I asked one guy whether there is a sea side table he said "will you have a dinner" I really didn't have an answer as he is worried that may be I am coming to have a couple of coffee (even though it is not his business), anyway I said yes, he told but the sea side tables are fully booked, you can take a second line table or the corner table, I asked him about one table (empty) he told it is booked as well. We went to that corner table where you can't enjoy the view, then I went to ask another waiter to let me know once a sea side table is empty to shift to it, he told with a very rude way that no shifting between tables 😂 (like if we are in the school), this guy is named Octai, he was very rude and unwelcoming, I believe he is a clear racist against Arabs may be, after that I decided to leave, I took my family and went out, one of the managers came and asked me what is the problem I told him that they don't want to give me a sea side table although it is available, he looked at this guy (Octai) very nervously and asked them to take me to the same table which they told that it was already reserved and we already sit in this table😏, This waiter Octai was very upset and nervous. I called him while having the food to bring me salt, he didn't answer 😂. No body else comes around to serve you, you have to go yourself to ask them something otherwise you have to shout. Food was not a miracle, normal level. The view was nice but you will never enjoy as long as you see such faces around you. It is clear that I will never go back and never recommend. If you find my review is helpful please give a like then it will appear more...
Read moreSo Michelin star clearly seems to be a marker of a top place to eat. At least this is how I used to think. Seafood orzo was as simple as rice from usual canteen. What it consisted of was: one huge shell with tiny mussel (honestly, i had never seen such a striking difference, mussel itself was like 1/5 of the shell); one small shrimp, and orzo itself. That's it. No need to say that the portion was really small, it's usual for such places. What about taste? Well, fine, nothing special. Price? 750 TL approximately. I would have preferred to eat 3 balik ekmeks. My partner ordered jumbo shrimps. Now shrimp size was impressing but i have no idea how to describe the taste since there was none. I mean it wasn't bad or good, it was totally insipid. Anymore interesting things? Hell yeah! Despite the fact that bringing water and bread with cheese/butter without asking whether customers want it and adding it to the final check is considered to be something normal in Istanbul, restaurant with michlenne star seemed like a place where this "nice" tradition is not valid. Of course I was mistaken. I suppose it added like 150 TL to the final check. I asked the waiter about the stuff in the check that we didn't order, since there had been cases when waiters simply removed these "presents". Well, didn't work. He just shrugged his shoulders and pointed to the bread, cheese, napkins (and seemingly all the other flatware on the table). Surprisingly (no) service was included either. To put it simply, this is not what you expect from miclene star restaurant (yeah, I'm pointing it out again). All things considered, it was one of the worst dining experiences in Istanbul (and my life too, to be brutally honest). P.S. The view is...
