After being highly recommended by our hotel staff this restaurant visit was an overwhelming disappointment. Which is a true shame as we had such high hopes that this was going to be the best, most memorable dining experience of our trip. We walked in early in the day to make a reservation and were greeted well. The evening of the reservation we got a decent (albeit unset) table but the service was relatively curt and distracted from the start. I put it down to the restaurant/waiter being busy and was giving a benefit of the doubt; but as the evening progressed it became worse and I eventually agreed with my husband that it was downright arrogant, aggressive and rude. Our server was ‘Michael’ (also heard him being called Haydar I think - and other review posts reference to a ‘Michael’ as the owner while others note he’s a waiter only). I sincerely hope he’s not the owner as the treatment we received was a huge disservice to the restaurant image and the ‘Michelin bib’ status it carries. He truly acted like we were a major inconvenience and his rude, increasingly aggressive demeanor towards us was made more palpable by the fact we literally witnessed him being so friendly to other guests. The only good service we got was the actual delivery of our food and that was from an alternate waiter. The food itself (we got the mixed grill/meat plate for 2) was decent but nothing more than average - honestly we’ve had similar and much better in other ‘Turkey located similar restaurants’. When the ‘delightful Michael’ finally brought the bill he made a specific point to tell us that the service charge was not included - we were not provided with an itemized version just the final card payment bill from the machine. He was literally already walking away as the receipt was ripped from the machine, thrown backwards onto the corner of the table, only to fall on the floor. No thank you, no goodbye, no civility - just the same rude, abrupt, discourteous attitude that was present at the start. We have no clue what warranted this interaction and it was a pretty deflating and disappointing experience. Based on the very average-ness of the food combined with the horrible service I certainly do...
Read moreAUTHENTIC scammers, there's nothing else to say. They sell a cay 30 TRY and an adana plate 450, do you think it is enough for them ? No, because you're basically for them sheep stocks to be shaven. So they will try to charge you 125 try / pers. at the end of the dinner, saying it is the service charge ('kuver'). It is not true, I begin traveling in Turkey from 2010 and this is just existing in that restaurant. In my case, that would mean 25% for the service, which it's not realistic in the restauration business (I'd be glad if the waiters would have this share 'automatically'...). I refused to pay that scam tax, and please also don't as they will continue to others if you do so. Then they will lie again to you, denying you from taking the ticket presented to you as final bill, saying it is their copy and just left you with the bank card ticket, which don't contain any details. This is again pure lie and unlawful, just to be sure you will not posting photos of it afterwards. AND the food was very average, nothing special, very flat taste and kind of stingy with the beloved turkish sides, no real salad, tomatoe dip neither bulgur. The bread under my meat was cold... I don't know if they and when they had their a Michelin recommandation, but Michelin team should get back quickly to...
Read moreWe were excited to eat here because it was on the Michelin Board which is a high award. We got there and it was kind of empty and the guy who greeted (bald man) us didn’t seem to be in a good mood. We sat down in the garden area and felt better about the place as the restaurant started to fill up. We had their mezes and the blue cheese with pistachios were excellent but that was probably it. There was a red spicy dip, cheese rolls, that were just mid and were just…ok. We also ordered mushrooms and it was the thing I least liked. It was bland and didn’t have any flavor to them. Getting the attention of the staff was incredibly difficult because it felt like they were prioritizing having their tables filled rather than giving the attention to the people who were eating. We saw people sit down and realize this too and they would just leave without ordering. We didn’t want to continue ordering because it isn’t cheap to eat there and we were worried about getting more mediocre food. We ordered total of 4 mezes and the bill was +1000 lira. Overall I wouldn’t really recommend eating here and expected just way more from a place who has such a...
