Although the hotel is close to everything Burj Khalifa, Dubai Mall, nice restaurants, nice lounges and other landmarks; this was a disappointing Stay with a Few Bright Spots after I spent one week and honestly, it was a bit of a letdown. Starting with check-in, the front desk agent didn’t even crack a smile or make me feel welcome or aknowledged being a Bonvoy member like many other Marriots do. Not a great first impression. On the bright side, after I complained, the manager Claudine did call to discuss and did send a fruit basket to apologize for a fault she did not commit, I appreciated a lot her call right away. But why one needs to complaint, this should be systematic amongst all staff. There were quite a few other issues during my stay. For example, I shared an elevator with some hotel staff, and one of them was burping in front of guests, not exactly what you would expect. The elevators were also crowded every morning and weren’t very clean, especially the vents. Some of the displays didn’t even work. Elevators were not well synchronized and in the morning after breakfast it is a nightmare. A big attention must be given to this urgently! Breakfast was a mixed experience. Mayas, Nilmini, and the Algerian guy at the egg station were fantastic, super friendly and efficient. But another person at the egg station was rude and kept burning the eggs. The coffee machine didn’t work properly, and they didn’t refill the coffee pots and milk fast enough. Also, sometimes, plates weren’t cleared quickly, so tables got cluttered. The room was nice, had everything you need and housekeeping did a great job, unfortunately the water pressure was weak, and the hot water wasn’t really hot. Maintenance, in general, needs work especially the pool area. The pool edges were dirty, and the jacuzzi only worked halfway. The pool attendant was just glued to their phone, not very helpful, not welcoming, not smiling and not ensuring all users shower first, to my surprise, I witnessed people removing clothes and dipping right into pool. Checkout was just like check-in, no smile, no “thank you,” no asking about my stay. It felt like I was invisible. Lastly, the luggage situation was frustrating. I left my bags with the concierge, but they were left outside unattended, which didn’t feel secure. The concierge were amazing though, very nice, very helpful, polite and went the extra mile (Ahmed the Egyptian in particular and another one from Pakistan). The hote could help them by providing a secure area for day storage. Overall this hotel has some good staff, like Mayas, Nilmini and concierge, but the place really needs to step up its game in terms of maintenance, cleanliness (I saw some cockroaches), and especially customer service (smiles are free). It’s the little things that make a difference, unfortunately, they missed the mark on several of them.

My stay date : 3/12/2024 - 7/12/2024 Overall Experience: 4.5/5 Room Quality The room was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, offering a relaxing stay. It provided all the essential amenities for a pleasant experience. Breakfast The breakfast was a highlight of the stay, offering a wide variety of delicious options. The setting was enhanced by a stunning view of the sea and the iconic high towers of Dubai, making mornings enjoyable and serene. Facilities Elevators: Fast and efficient, minimizing waiting times, even during peak hours. Nearby Amenities: The hotel is conveniently located near cafes, restaurants, a barber shop, a pharmacy, and a small grocery store—all within walking distance. Location The proximity to the metro station is a significant advantage, making travel across Dubai hassle-free. Additionally, the hotel’s central location near key attractions and amenities adds immense value to the stay. Price While the hotel is on the expensive side, its location, convenience, and quality services make it worth the cost for travelers seeking accessibility and comfort in Dubai. Highlights Comfortable and clean rooms Delicious breakfast with a spectacular view Close proximity to public transport, attractions, and essential services Suggestions If budget is a concern, consider exploring nearby dining options for more affordable meals outside of breakfast. For longer stays, the proximity to a grocery store is also a convenient cost-saving option. Would recommend for travelers prioritizing comfort, excellent location, and quality service in Dubai!

I don’t know where this place gets its stars from. Been here about 20 nights, it’s an ongoing circus. Let’s start with elevators, whoever programmed them has certainly photoshopped their degree but worse than this, the hotel isn’t doing anything about it - expect to wait 3-5 mins for your elevator it’s normal 🙃 Then this happened twice : no elevators available, I have to once take the stairs that looked like they haven’t been cleaned since 1979 and once waited for 15 MINUTES to be able to leave my floor. This is SCANDALOUS!! Then let’s talk about the fact that they take a deposit, tell you they released it but don’t, been waiting for my money to be back for over 20 days all great 👍👏🏻 Let’s talk about staff, highly untrained, their outfits are in terrible shape, many of them need new sets to look presentable. Many times I say for breakfast and had to ask for cutlery myself. Some times I had to sit on a dirty table cause everything is full - no one bothering to clean it at any point… The only good experience I had was the gentle man cleaning my room. Finally, I want to clarify that I have talked with the hotel many times and gave many heads ups and warnings. I only give bad reviews when it’s a hopeless cause, and this is certainly one. There needs to be an URGENT change to fix the situation.

Room 2108. Abuzer Sigriwala. Overall, I'm very impressed with the hotel. The rooms are beautifully renovated, and the location is unbeatable - right on Sheikh Zayed Road with the metro station right next door. Plus, it's close to the Dubai Mall and other key attractions However, I was a bit disappointed to learn there isn't an option to convert the breakfast included in my rate to Suhoor meals. As a Muslim observing Ramadan, this would have been very helpful. In fact, several other Marriott properties I've stayed at recently, like Courtyard by Marriott, Marriott Downtown Abu Dhabi, and Marriott Forsan, all offered the flexibility to switch breakfast to Suhoor. I hope the hotel might consider adding this option in the future for guests fasting during Ramadan. PS: It should be noted that I am a Platinum Elite Member and never stay in any hotels except Marriott.
