The gym is decent. Started with my girlfriend a month ago and we go almost every day.
While some people may think that the gym is limited, I think that with the amount you pay per month for the basic membership, you get more than any other gym in the UK. Basically, you get what you pay for.
The equipment is good enough for what we’re doing. It’s sad that they got rid of the seated calf raise machine and would be good to have an incline barbell bench press as well as a seated shoulder press bar. At the moment, I’m using dumbbells to do those two exercises.
Keep in mind that the handles of the machines are slightly thicker than what you may expect from another gym. While in pushing exercises this doesn’t really matter, but in pulling exercises like the Lat Pulldown, you may see a slight discomfort but as your grip strengthens, you’ll get more comfortable.
The classes are alright too. We tried a few so far and while we enjoyed them, I think it would be better if there were harder classes for abs and more classes throughout the week. Other than that, we’re are pretty happy with what we have.
There’s a body composition scale too, which you can use once a month for free with the basic membership, something I haven’t seen from another gym gym I used to go in my uni.
Overall, I’m pretty happy with everything so far. We will keep going to this gym for as long as we stay in the UK. Glad that the Gym operates...
Read moreI've been going to this gym for a few months now and love it. It's not far from my home (10-12mins), the Ashford town center is accross the street, so if you need to go and shop for groceries, get dessert, go to the bank, or get some sweet treats at The Sweet Shop then you can just walk accross as opposed to driving. The gym is also accross the street from Lidl grocery market. You can validate your car parking inside the gym too.
The staff are very helpful (shout out to Leighton and John), always eager to help out with the equipment or answer any questions I may have.
I gave it a 4 because although the gym is pretty clean and tidy, the front mats by the window should be swept or wiped down as people are constantly walking/working out on them, stretching, and this is where the group classes are held so there's usually dirt or hair strands on them. This makes it difficult to sit or do floor/mat stretches when it's so dirty.
But overall, it's a great gym, has low membership, and it's 24 hours, so you can get your sweat on whatever time you feel...
Read moreI am coming to this gym 5 times a week only to find that now the dispensers with the blue rolls and the desinfection spray was removed completely with a sign saying that this is due to environmental reasons. Ok, first I have no problem if you want to help the environment but I do have a problem if I can not clean the equipment a sweaty person used before me. Certainly I am bringing a towel but this is to use for myself and not to wipe down other peoples sweat on the machines.
I must say this is really disgusting. You don’t give me a chance to get it all cleaned before. Surely it should be in your interests that I want to clean before and after me. Which place takes your concerns about the hygienic in your gym? Clearly you did not have a think before doing it and if you want to safe the environment, have you ever heard of biodegradable towels and environmental friendly cleaning solutions? Sorry, but I need to have a look for another gym, where hygienic and my health is...
