Our experience here was great. Wheelchair accessibility was fantastic. The entrance is a little bumpy but no issues. Bouncers/door staff were super friendly and approachable. Although there's no dedicated accessible area, the staff moved a part of the barrier so my care client could have an unobstructed view of the stage without disrupting safety of visitors or performers. After some time they came back to check all was okay. This was appreciated a lot. The bar staff were friendly and efficient too. I was concerned about the accessibility as there wasn't much on the website but it was all good. We will be coming back for more gigs. My only negative is that the emergency red cord in the disabled bathroom isn't up to code - it doesn't reach the floor. Hopefully this will be fixed. Other than that, this is one of the most accommodating and friendly venues we have been to.
In terms of price, drinks are around or slightly below brum city centre prices. Nothing outrageous but not cheap either (Ā£5ish per pint). Other reviews state poor sound - this doesn't ring true with my experience. The sound was good particularly considering the building structure. The smoking/vaping/outdoor area is accessible and doesn't require walking a mile like other larger venues. There's also some benches where you can still see the stage if...
Ā Ā Ā Read morea solid 9/10 experience in my opinion for however much thats worth, like the music, like the crowd and the cheap early shots are a major bonus, only sad thing is whenever we go, the night is ended quite abruptly, so think no build up and the music just sort of cuts off eventually as the lights turn back on. On another note, that vodka they serve, I wouldn't touch, its cheap and due to years of alcohol abuse, a liver that should probably divorce me and essentially having vodka as an only option for years, I can tell. I recommend the tequila, maybe even cactus jack if you prefer flavoured liqours, but stay away from the vodka for your tongues sake.
On another other note, visisted during a recent slipknot event, nu metal is decent, I like it don't get me wrong, but I was expexting more slipknot. Now I was basically plastered solidly, but I only really recall one song from Vol 3 being played, I don't know if this was specific to who was DJing that night, but was dissapointing considering me and my friend were going mainly due to the event being about slipknot. Again, can't say if this is common, we usually go without picking out specific events and are usually there to just enjoy the atmosphere...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAmazing venue and bar staff it's just a shame that one particular bouncer ruined my experience there. I was told my friend needed to leave and without even letting me talk to him to tell him we need to leave suddenly 4 bouncer surrounded the 2 of us and carried my friend out. I tried to talk to them asking them to let go of my friend and I will walk him out but they failed to listen to me and chose to gaslight me by saying I was making the situation worse. I was then physically pushed out the venue as my friend was carried out. Again constantly asking them to put him down and we would leave calmy. Then one of the bouncers tried to accuse me of being racist and did so by filming me. When I tried to explain that I was not racist he continued to talk over me and film me. Eventually I had to call the police as the bouncers were not willing to listen to me. Honestly amazing bar staff and venue it was a shame the...
