I am writing to bring to your attention a concerning incident that occurred on 24th February 2024 involving the manager at Hen & Chicken. I believe it is crucial to address this matter promptly, as it involves both abusive behavior and a complete disregard for disability precautions.
During a recent interaction with the said manager, we had booked a table from 6 till 8. We rang ahead stating we will be late and arrived slightly behind schedule but at no point we were told that there would be a cut off time for ordering. We went to order food at 7:15 and got told we aren't allowed to as the booking is. Until 8, in 45 minutes the kitchen couldn't make food. We were served drinks without an issue 5 minutes after our table booking was up but they did make £80 from it.
We questioned the food again and as time passed it was now 8:10 and still no food, the place was an empty pub and then me alongside my friends experienced a high level of confrontational and abusive behavior from the butch manager. Her tone and language were unprofessional and created an uncomfortable environment for all involved. I believe that such conduct goes against the principles of a respectful restaurant and is detrimental to the well-being of the customers.
Furthermore, I would like to bring to your attention a specific incident that occurred on the same day involving our friend with cerebral palsy. He had gone to the disabled toilet and slipped and fell on the wet floor, there were no signs to indicate this but when mentioned one of the workers (Caucasian hench lady/they them) ran off with a sign to place it and have to audacity to shout at us claiming there were 3 signs already placed. At that point we were not drunk and nor are we stupid.
They disregarded the safety and well-being of all customers. This not only poses a risk to his health but also highlights a failure in implementing and respecting disability accommodations.
I understand the importance of maintaining a professional and inclusive environment. However, the recent incidents have raised serious concerns about the management style of Hen & Chicken.
I request a thorough investigation into these matters to ensure that appropriate actions are taken to address the abusive behavior and to prevent any further disregard for disability precautions.
We ended up going to Soho Tavern where we were accommodated with respect and the food was 10/10 unlike Hen & Chicken. I will not be attending again and will happily spend my money at Soho Tavern.
I think nothing will be done but probably a message saying "please sent us a private message etc"
Save your money and time and head to a better place.

Our visit was on a night before the lockdown. It was easy to find the place, and once we went inside, we saw that it was a small but comfortable, well-lit place.
Ambience: The lighting was nice, and although they serve Indian cuisine, the interiors had a rustic British feel to them.
Seating: The seating may seem cramped to some, but this was before the lockdown, so it didn't seem that problematic to us, especially because everything else worked out well. If the smaller tables are separated out a bit more, it'd have been better though.
Food: We ordered a couple of starters and some main course. All of those were great. The menu is not large or extensive, but it offered everything required for an appetizing and relaxing experience.
Drinks: The bar is big, relative to the overall size of the place. The standard choice of drinks was available, and the bartender had some good suggestions for what goes well with the food they offer.
Service: The staff all appeared to be knowledgeable about the menu, and the orders were served fast enough (the place was crowded so we expected some delay anyway).
Overall it was a great dining experience, complemented by the fact that it's the first restaurant I visited...
