It is a beautiful park, plenty of parking split over two areas however the road down to the park is not in the best condition with some very large pot holes. This is something the friends of Nuttall Park have petitioned to get resolved previously. Once in the park there is a lovely central hub which is ran by the same volunteers, they provide refreshments and the room can also be booked for private parties for kids. Toilets available for male, female and additional individual disabled toilet that is accessed by Radar key.
The tennis courts have recently been taken out and a full resurface carried out with a lovely new fence around with pin code entry, this facility can be booked online.
The kids park has some cool things to play on some areas need some repairs and TLC but mainly really good.
The footpath around the park is measured with painted marker points for walkers and runners to know how far they have gone, this route is also used at weekends for Park Run.
It's a lovely walk walking towards the East Lancashire Railway line at Ramsbottom where if timed right you can see some amazing steam or diesel engines, on special occasions you can see extra special trains such as the Flying Scotsman.
As you continue you can walk under the tracks and into Ramsbottom centre, have a quick shop in the abundance of shops then walk back to the park.
Plenty of open grassed area for families to play games with shaded area under some well established trees.
Overall a beautiful family park for you to...

So another muddy exploration, 1st time here, have been checking out quite a few parks, reservoirs, woodland etc etc
Nuttall is good for an hour trek, you have the loop around the park, some woodland & if you navigate a bridge or 2 you can walk along the banks of the Irwell so a decent little stroll & most importantly - plenty of sniffing for the dogs!!
Will come back again over the next few months, I like to watch places change throughout the seasons & like everyone I am looking forward to warmer, drier days - might have to wait a while for...
Read moreThis is a good park for a visit with children, because it's kept pretty clean and safe. The playground is well equipped with a variety of the usual swings, climbing frames etc plus two shortish zip wires and a ground level trampoline.
The park has a path all the way round which is great for jogging/running, walking the dog, pushchairs, kids bikes etc.
The River Irwell loops around the park and adds interest with wildlife and the scenic aspect. There's also a bowling green, tennis courts, a mud kitchen(!) for messy play, flower beds, free car park. It's not a massive park, but it's not bad for...
