Worst experience and service ever!! I am an ex pub manager and I would be ashamed to call this pub mine! Pre booked for a family Sunday meal and my younger vegetarian sister who has meat allergies was given a meat lasagne when the staff where made aware their apology was practically none existant! The last meal took it's sweet time to arrive the fish and chips! Which was soggy and bland when they asked how our food was and we made them aware that the pasta in the lasagne was not cooked (it resembled the leather off a football!!) The plates where snatched away from us with attitude no replacement or offer of anything else so 2 people out of 5 where then left sat there with no food while everybody else ate!! Our refund was thrown in front of us as the young lady with dark hair apologised for the poor food whilst giving us a dirty look she then stormed away and left us sat there unhappy with no food! The menu is very expensive and definitely not worth the trip terrible service! Dreadful food and very...
Read moreCame across this place on a lovely walk through the village of Ramsbottom, so popped in for a quick drink and a bite to eat and ended up staying a lot longer than I should have(in a good way), the place was packed with a mixture of locals and fellow ramblers ,with a relaxing atmosphere , after perusing the menu I had the home made cheese and onion pie with fresh cut chips and mushy peas, and a beautiful fine ale (a few) and it was absolutely delicious and cost next to nothing, especially with the size of the portions , had a lovely chat with the landlady claire and her other half (Tucker I think ) who made my short stay very welcoming, hence to say next time I am in the area I will definitely be calling on this hostelry again ,I felt obliged to write this review after having had such a great day, keep up the good work and thanks again to you and your lovely staff hope to be back again soon,so a big fat well done at the Major good public houses are a...
Read moreEdited review. New one based on multiple visits because of my handicap and proximity to house. Single, freethinking women are not welcome here. Even if you have a dog. Must come with a man. Then MAYBE you will get a LITTLE respect, though I have seen little proof of that either. Apparently some people don't believe platonic relationships are possible, so men and women alike will hate on you. Note: current management fairly recent, and no food except maybe pasties...
