Signs outside saying food served 12-6pm Wed-Sun so went in at 5pm, ordered food and drinks for myself and a friend, paid for everything and 15 mins later the Lady on the bar informed us the kitchen was infact closed and she had made a mistake taking our order. I then heard her saying to, who I assume was a member of the kitchen staff who asked her "What did they want?" as they were leaving the pub. "They wanted a couple of burgers" to which she received no response. We just decided to leave our drinks and go. We left at 5.25pm and the sandwich blackboard sign was still outside advertising that food was available til 6pm. The lady serving on the bar was very welcoming and attentive when we arrived and very apologetic about there being no food available after taking our order and payment. She clearly hadn't been informed that the kitchen had decided to close an hour earlier than advertised. We were very disappointed as it's the 1st visit we've made to this pub since moving to this area 12 months ago. It's unlikely we'd go choose to go in...

Probably the worst dining experience I've ever had. I went on the last day of the Eat Out to Help Out (Bank Holiday Monday/August 31st). It was surprisingly not that busy, but we sat at the table we booked at 5pm and had our orders taken shortly after. They'd ran out of pie and lasagne, had almost no steaks left, the coffee machine was broken and they had no sparkling water. The menu wasn't very extensive but we ordered fairly standard meals, but didn't receive our starters until 6:30pm. We had two young children and they were very restless, so requested their mains be brought as soon as possible, but still waited another 10 minutes or so for beans on toast and macaroni cheese. The 3 adults' mains came even later, and there was a huge chunk completely missing from my fish on my fish and chips. The food was definitely below average after all that waiting. One waiter made a real effort to apologise and offered us a round of drinks, but after 2 hours there we just wanted to leave. Never...

Positives: Food and drink is very tasty, atmosphere is always nice, been a few times and it's been brilliant until today.

Negatives: Quite a bit colder than normal which is what it is We ordered food and waited 40 minutes Asked for the burger not to have the caramelised onions which was supposed to be noted but was on the burger No cutlery or napkins(had to go to the bar to ask for them after the waiter said there was some in the tray)... This is just lazy No salt No salad came with the lasagne (on the menu) We ordered two portions of chips with our lasagne and got half the amount we've received previous times being there (you have to pay extra for this) And.... The lasagne was smaller than any other time we've been. Still hungry.... We also got drinks so about £100 spent in all.

Do not recommend as we will never go here again. Paid £40 for food alone and would have been better off just having McDonald's which is more food at half the price, this...

Friendly contemporary refurbished pub with plenty of space to relax following walks on the moors in and around Ramsbottom. Outside seating available to the rear of the property and three rooms inside (one has a pool table). Sky sports available on screens throughout the venue. Nice pub, visited several years ago and pleased I went back.

A beautiful, traditional Pub located in the market town of Ramsbottom just a few miles from Bury. The Railway has a warm atmosphere and you feel at home straight away. Great beer and a nice place to meet up with friends. They serve food so you can have a nice meal. Great Pub to visit if your in town..

The service is great and staff is friendly. The food is in-standard (but slightly expensive) Because of its unique location, it is a great place to recharge yourself if you are waiting for the steam train in Ramsbottom Station.
