Carlisle is full of hidden gems. There’s Castle Chocolate, Luna Amatores and Bookends to name a few. But my ultimate favourite is Flutter and Fern. The shop is still in its infancy although Joanne has been creating gorgeous artwork before then. She took the brave and bold decision to open up the shop and now sources the most unique and gorgeous crafts from across the UK. Every birthday present and treat I need 70% of the time comes from here. This is an ideal pocket money shop for both kids and adults. Who needs a coffee when you can get new washi! Oh, and the pin wall. Yes! She has a full dedicated wall to pins and there’s so many to choose from.

This is honestly one of my all time favourite shops! It is full of beautifully made items from small businesses, a great place for gift buying! They stock items like art prints and cards, crotched pieces, clothing, and various accessories, bookish themed goodies like bookmarks and book sleeves and a massive wall dedicated to pin badges! Everyone there is super lovely and always up for a chat. They even hold workshops from time to time where you try your hand at making something. Honestly can't recommend this shop enough!
