Park in central Cirencester, convenient near shops and other amenities, with a few benches to sit on and large grassy space with lake and play area for children. The play area is fenced so dogs don't foul it. A sign tells visitors about the history of the area, and the dissolution of the monasteries. Not enough benches to sit on: all were taken. Toilets not clean. I wouldn't like to walk through here at night, very dark and lots of trees and bushes. Good car park. Toilet facilities available but obviously I recommend using a toilet in a nearby cafe as the toilets here are portaloos and kids will be kids! Small coffee shop on site but only take away coffee and drinks (ice cream perhaps?) Available I believe.. sorry a bit vague as I haven't actually used the business. Playpark for the children is safe and secure. Not ever vandalised that I've seen. Some seating at various parts of the park with beautiful views. Sometimes plays host to the phoenix festival. A free festival for the area with funfair rides, food stalls, information stands and local ales. The heart of...

Today, the site of the Abbey is outlined with paving stones. In the Abbey grounds is a lake (home to a large population of wildfowl), impressive trees and greenery and section of ancient Roman Wall.
The Abbey Grounds is also home to a bandstand (completed in 1999) on which there are performances during the summer months.
Nice historical park for...
