Alberts Bar — Restaurant in England

We have just held a 40th birthday meal for 22 at Alberts Bar Torquay & have to say the service & meals were excellent, this bar has just been totally refurbished & looks great, with the main meals being just 2 for £12 & kids at just £1 it is great value.

There is a well equipped play area for children & the seven that were with us had a great time. Although this is at the back of the venue so is not a nuisance to other diners.

Chris behind the bar is a credit to TLH, he addressed any problems & queries we had quickly & efficiently, from the time of the initial booking through to the end of the evening, in fact we were so impressed we have booked another evening for my wife's 60th next month for 35 of us!

The entertainment on the night, Jason Howard (The human jukebox) was also excellent & i would recommend that anyone holidaying or living in the bay give it a try.

Entertainment varies through the week with (At time of writing) Tues, Jason Howard Sat & Sun Karaoke plus other entertainment , quizzes etc through the week.

I wasn't expecting much which was fine but this place was not nice. The tables were sticky, it is loud and the decor is bad. The hallumi fries were dry and hard. The smothered chicken was overdone yet not hot. The salad was disgusting wilted and not editable. The house wine was also nasty. I know this all sounds harsh but for £7.10 for those hallumi fries I just have to tell people who work hard for their money that this place is not for dinning. A really nice bar, it has been nicely decorated since the last time I went there. They have very good quality food, and different special offers which make it very good value.
