Food was absolutely delicious. Loved everything we got. Mixed starter platter was cooked to perfection and was so tasty. The chicken wings were so tasty as were the sauce the ribs came with. We got the fruity pork which I 100% recommend. The salted egg tofu was good too. The Sichuan chicken had nice flavour but was a dry dish (not overcooked or anything) and needs to be paired with a sauce or saucy dish in my opinion. Service was very attentive. My only suggestion is the fragrance they use in the dining area. We would occasionally get a whiff of what smelt like toilets/air freshener. I don’t think it was the toilets because they didn’t smell and we were sat away from them, perhaps there’s a ventilation duct or something near us. That being said, I’d still say this is the best Chinese I’ve had and would come back here...
Read moreAwful for Vegans & Vegetarians! I walked 25mins for this Chinese restaurant due to it having good reviews! I have to review this review, awful black bean sauce and rice quality! The sauce was very thin, watery and flavourless. Not thick and rich and flavourful like it should be. When I held the dish up and held the nit sauce Ingredients to the side and sauce just gushed out like water! Really unappetising! I had the bean curd in black bean sauce and the sauce felt like an after thought with bits of bean curd just thrown into a watery uninspiring sauce. The worst dish I have ever had from a Chinese restaurant, I forced myself to eat 1/4 of it and I threw the rest in the bin. The rice was also lacking flavour and egg (for an egg fried rice) and the prawn rice crackers were abit stale overly...

I hardly write any reviews but Shi Shang is somewhere I started visiting after being blown away by their food in 2022. I bring all my friends and family here and they even insist on going back to Shi Shang for every occasion. After living in China for nearly a decade, Shi Shang is the only place that satisfies my cravings for authentic Chinese food. The dishes that I strongly recommend are as follows: Cumin Beef (孜然牛肉) is to die for! Diced string beans with mince pork (榄菜肉末四季豆) is great for mixing with rice. Stir fried wide rice noodles with beef (干炒牛河): a Cantonese classic. Stir fried beef with spring onions (葱爆牛肉): my child can finish this a whole plate with 3 bowls of rice. Sweet and sour lean pork (糖醋里脊): my new favourite.
10/10. Would...
