Really enjoy visiting here with and without my children. We've been coming for years, a great half day out. The new interactive VR dinosaur screens are a welcomed addition.

The time limited exhibits are always interesting (for example Star Wars: May the toys be with you, 1960s mods and rockers, ladybird books, Nick Parker: Wallace and Gromit being my favourites!)

Clearly a lot of investment has gone into this over the years, I cannot believe it's still donation only entry.

The cafe has a good selection to choose from, including gluten free food and reasonably priced.

The gift shop has various stuff on offer for all ages.

Reception offer children's activity booklets/ sheets to keep them entertained and sometimes hands on games, reading corners, colouring areas within the exhibits. Stickers for completing tasks. The Den area has looked the same since I've been going and could do with jazzing up in line with the rest of the renovations which have happened.

The newest permanent exhibit - Leicester stories is very interesting, and the introduction of local opinion/sharing boards.

You can easily spend 4 hours looking at everything and stopping for a drink.

The staff are all really friendly :-)

My children have also attended in the past the bookable craft sessions they offer in the back room which are great fun.

I have also attended launch days and talks in the gallery which are worth going to if you can where they pull out all the stops!

I like that the toilets are individually locked rooms now however they aren't the cleanest and often missing toilet roll/ soap during busy periods like school holidays where there must be...

Revised 30/05/2023 Visted with my 6 year old. Space to leave trailer by main entrance. Lift for disabled and pram access. Interactive points were a big hit. Lots of microscopes are also a massive hit with my daughter. The gift shop was ok priced and was able to get something that didn't break the bank.

Loved the classical music to listen to while looking at art.

Lots of fun in the den.

The museum itself is lovely, and I can't wait to take my 6 years old. However, I had a bad experience thanks to another guest.

Guest became aggressive towards me for trying to take a photo. Raising his voice and being intimidating. "Don't take photos of my children" he said which I replied politely "I'm not I'm taking a photo of the musuem" which he replied "it's not a public place you can't just be taking photos" ... shocked as I wasn't even taking a photo with them in the background. I was trying to take a photo of flags on the ceiling. However, this man was putting his middle finger up at me. When I continued to try and take my photo, he stood in front of me, wss being threatening and abusive so I left in tears (as a single woman visiting alone, I didn't feel safe anymore)

The museum had a great selection of displays, toilets, kids play den. Interactive...

New walk is a place i've been visiting for a while now, and I have always loved that it is free entry as it makes it so much more accessible to familes who otherwise could not afford to come, including mine. I will say it is starting to show its age, but I can see there are efforts to update some of the most impacted areas, though I will miss the wildlife section from fond memories of clambering through the tunnels as a child.

We visited the Renoir (an amazing scheme which we all hope will repeat next year) and it was stunning, I loved they had an animation for younger audiences to watch and engage with. The paintings in the victorian gallery are beautiful too and always have been.

The dinosaur exhibit was interesting with all its interactive exhibits but I personally found the amount of text on the walls, info boards etc. Very overwhelming- there was an awful lot to take in.

I would have also found it interesting if in the Picasso exhibit more was done to discuss the current conversations surrounding Picasso and his treatment of the women in his life, and engage in debates which are happening now about whether this changes our view of him as an artist as well...

This is a completely free museum! And it’s open on Sundays There are a lot of parking spaces next to it, which is very convenient Although the museum is not big But offers a huge collection! And suitable for family tours First of all, you can see dinosaur fossils on the first floor! There is a giant dinosaur bone fossil in the middle of the exhibition hall. Children will definitely love it! When you walk in, you will see specimens introducing animals from all continents. Very interesting and lively! In addition, it also has an exhibition hall introducing the history of Leicester. Tells a lot about the local Indian ethnic groups and the development of leicester from ancient times to the present What surprises me the most is that I can actually see Minaoyin here! And it’s closer than the British Museum You can see their faces very clearly in the exhibit At the same time, feel what they were like when they were alive Of course, the museum also offers wonderful oil paintings Visitors can sit on the sofa and rest slowly Appreciate the beauty and detail of oil paintings carefully if you live nearby This is definitely a place worth coming to relax
