We visited as a family, some of us who love shrimp and some who really don't! Therefore, we opted for the 'cluckin goodness' sharing platter, which consisted of chicken breasts, chicken wings, and shrimp, with a side of chips and rice. The shrimp and chicken breast had a good flavour, but we were not impressed with the wings. The wings tasted old and were lathered in a tomato sauce, which didn't work with the flavours. The chips were nice and sprinkled with a seasoned salt. The rice portion was big, cooked perfectly but fairly bland tasting with just a hint of turmeric. We also ordered a side of mash and a side salad, which was more like a coleslaw, but tasted really good with a great crunch to it. The mash was very creamy although, the individual little balls get cold very quickly under the powerful AC blowing over us. It was a very hot day, so we appreciated the AC. The kids decided they wanted to try the chicken liver, so we ordered this too. It was cooked perfectly, melt in your mouth liver in a delicious sauce, served with a warmed buttery pitta. We were provided with disposable gloves and aprons to eat the messy food we had ordered. I should have worn one as I got a stain on my white top! There are clean washroom facilities down the corridor at the rear of the restaurant if required. However, if you just wanted to quickly wash your hands, then there is a sink available near the kitchen. There is also a water dispenser that you can access for drinking. We opted for simple soft drinks and were very impressed that they were selling non-cocacola products in support of Palestine đ¤đ¤â¤ď¸đ A great business ethic! There is a very small carpark available at the side of the restaurant which holds about six cars. I believe the carpark is shared between three separate businesses and can be quite a squeeze to get in and out of. Depending on the time of day you visit, there can be street parking on the main road just outside and also a few carparks dotted around the side streets. The service here was brilliant. Helpful, smiley staff always make it all the...
Read moreI reached out directly to the restaurant via email regarding this issue, but no one responded, so I am posting my review on this platform. I am writing to share feedback regarding my recent visit to the Shrimp@Co location in Leicester. I had previously dined at this restaurant several months ago and thoroughly enjoyed the experience, which is why I chose to return on November 4th, around 5:00 p.m., to celebrate my birthday.
On this occasion, I decided to try a different dish; the Claws & Tails Platter. Unfortunately, my excitement quickly turned to disappointment when I discovered that the crab claws and legs were completely empty. I brought this to the attention of our waitress, who observed the issue at the table. To my surprise, she explained that the crabs are âreceived this wayâ and that it was normal for them not to contain meat. She even suggested that I should not have ordered that particular dish if I wanted meat.
I was quite taken aback by this response. It seems unreasonable for a restaurant to offer a menu item that provides no edible portion of the featured seafood. Furthermore, when I questioned this, the waitress pointed to the menu and advised that if I wanted crab meat, I should order another dish with longer crab legs, essentially suggesting that we spend more money to resolve the issue.
I am attaching pics of the crab claws which are included in a platter customers pay ÂŁ40, tell me if this...
Read moreAwful experience at this restaurant. They have a small car park, we asked if we could park our car and was told yes we can. There was no control barricade poll whilst we were there, and absolutely no notice about one. The poll is black and lower than the height of our car and mirror view so we did not see that they had put it up whilst we were leaving. What was dissapointing was the manner in which we were spoken to as if we should have known. Again, they were aware we was parked and as we was leaving someone should have made an effort to let us know. I do not like leaving bad reviews, and in fact this is my first negative review. Today is our 11th wedding anniversary and it really put a damper on our evening. The person listening to our complaint did so in a very rude manner failing to comprehend why we would be upset. They said there is a notice up- and there was not. They said they put it up when the car park is full. The car park was not full, and when we arrived the car park was very full yet no barricade was up. Our car has a fully working sensor and it did not even pick it up because it is soo low. I am writing this to display our disssapointment and hope that they will do better by using a higher barricade, and illuminous cone or notice to warn people. This really was not fair and to be treated as if we should have just known this is equally dissaponting and left a...
