My wife and I had the pleasure of staying at this beautiful, characterful, hotel last Saturday and Sunday night. I really appreciate great service, and that’s just what we got at The Queens Court. The concierge, Alfie, greeted us and was so friendly and hospitable, he gave us room 301 which is on the top 3rd floor, up in the lift then one flight of stairs. This room has a lovely view of the square and was immaculately clean and welcoming! It has a super king sized bed and a large and well-equipped bathroom, perfect! The décor in the hotel is warm and welcoming and we loved the individual feel and ambiance of the whole place. |Next morning we met a lovely lady, Triveni serving in the breakfast restaurant, there wasn’t a free table in this very smart area, but she was calm, very friendly and professional. |The breakfast is amazing here, the abundant fresh fruit and yoghurt selections were so tempting, and croissants were so fresh too. The full English cooked breakfast was exactly what we asked for, and so scrumptious too!|We had spent Sunday visiting various seaside beauty spots including Dawlish Warren, when we came back Alfie served us a cold beer and shandy from the quaint bar, we relaxed, read and chatted together, sat on some of the very comfortable sofas they have in the lovely bar area.|Monday morning breakfast was lovely as well, this time beautifully served by Olivia and then just before we left the friendly manager, Marek, spoke to us too!|We loved our visit both to Exeter and the Queens Court Hotel, and we will be back!|Thank you very much to all of the exceptional staff for making our stay so thoroughly...
Read moreSo this stay consisted of a warm welcome right from the start,we had a free upgrade to a triple room (207)which sounded great but on reflection wish we hadn’t got it as the room decor was unusual and very dark in its choice of colours which wasn’t to our taste but as always it’s just somewhere to put your head down for the night so we just ran with it!!bathroom was good and clean as was the bedroom and the bed was comfy. They had a bar area where you could sit and enjoy a drink which had a tv to watch if you so wished. The breakfast was brilliant couldn’t have asked for more and the girl waiting on us was lovely and polite, all the staff were polite and always smiling. There was lots of decorating going on in the building so you had to be careful of wet paint but we never found it a problem. Was it the best stay ever no it wasn’t only because of the unusual bedroom decor!! would we stay again absolutely as the price was so cheap with breakfast included!!the hotel is just a short walk to the centre!! There is parking if you manage to find a space outside in the residence parking bays, then you go inside the hotel and they will issue you a voucher for £5 which lasts until 12 midday the next day but if you can’t park there you have to use the large car park which is...
Read moreWe stay here when dropping off or picking up our son from university. It is conveniently located towards the city centre without actually having to be right in the city itself. The city centre is within walking distance so no problems getting to somewhere to eat and we can also walk to the church my son attends on Sunday morning. Parking can be interesting but there is a pay parking opposite the hotel that isn't too expensive. The hotel sells street parking permits from midday to midday which may fit in with your stay but there is no guarantee of a space. The hotel itself is quiet and comfortable but a little tired. Nothing really to complain about. The double beds would be nicer to be king size or bigger. The bar is small but priced very well, not your normal hotel mark up. Breakfast is excellent with a good set of hot options. On a recent stay they let our son join us for breakfast as if a guest. And this brings me to a highlight of our stay which is the staff. OK, this was a repeat stay for us but we have never had an issue with any of the staff. Always polite and friendly. We will be returning a couple more times at least, our son is now approaching his last year as an undergraduate, we will have to see what happens...
