Soar Point in Leicester is a fantastic bar that offers a great atmosphere, especially for students, but it is welcoming to anyone looking for a relaxed and fun place to hang out. There is plenty of seating available, including large tables that are perfect for groups, so it is easy to come here with friends and all sit together comfortably. The space is well thought out and caters to different needs, whether you are there for food, drinks, games, or just to chill. There are loads of screens showing sports, pool tables to enjoy, board games on the shelves, and even a photo booth for some extra fun. The outdoor seating area looks out onto the water which gives it a really nice touch. One of the best parts is the regular deals on both food and drinks throughout the week, and they even host a bingo night on Thursdays which adds a fun twist. Another great feature is the availability of USB ports and plug sockets around the bar. I have brought my laptop here a few times to get some work done, and the environment is really chilled and comfortable for that. The staff are always friendly and helpful which creates a very welcoming vibe. The only downside is the very strong smell of urine in the toilets, which is quite unpleasant and really lets the place down. Aside from that issue, Soar Point is a cool, student-friendly venue that is well worth a visit whether you are looking to relax, watch sports, socialise, or get a bit of work done.

Excellent food and beer! I stopped by here after a day wandering around the nearby churches, Roman and medieval ruins, and the castle gardens, hungry and eager for a pint. I had the Opera lager, which was a delicious, simple pilsner, and the Millionaire stout which has salted caramel notes. I loved both, but preferred the lager as i tend to like the plainer styles best, but the Millionaire was perfect as a half pint for "dessert." As for the food: the prices are crazy for such a great spread! I got the Bigger Breakfast, a full English, for only £5.95. it was HUGE, and totally delicious! I couldn't finish it all, but I wanted to. The atmosphere is fun and comic book nerdy. De Montfort University is right down the street, (and there was a big football match on,) so the crowd skews slightly to the younger college set, but I didn't feel out of place. If the weather's nice, there's a large outdoor patio right on the canal which I imagine would be perfect for lunch on a summer day. Highly recommend!

Great for students. Variety of food and drinks and they cater well to dietary preferences. Food isn’t exceptional, but you do get for what you pay for and it’s all very cheap. They do regular quizzes and special events. My friends and I had our Christmas meal there, £12/person for 3 courses, Santa hats and Christmas crackers.

I had a terrible experience at Soar Point, and I feel compelled to share my disappointment. My friends and I placed multiple orders, including two Espresso Martinis. Due to a small human error, we mistakenly provided the wrong table number. When the staff member brought our drinks, instead of handling the situation politely, he spoke to us in an extremely rude and unprofessional manner. Rather than resolving the issue courteously, he simply left the peanut packet on our table and told us to reorder with correct table number.

Feeling disrespected, I walked to the bar and returned the peanut packet, saying I didn’t need it if we weren’t being charged. Later, I approached a different staff member, who happened to be the manager, expecting better service. Instead, the situation escalated. Not only did he refuse to serve us drinks despite our previous order number, but his behavior was discriminatory and racist.

Even after we had ordered a significant amount of food and drinks, he showed no professionalism, no courtesy, and no effort to de-escalate the situation. His attitude was completely unacceptable. Racism has no place in customer service, and I will be taking further action regarding his behavior.

A business thrives on its reputation, and if Soar Point allows such biased and rude behavior from their management, it will undoubtedly affect their success. I strongly urge the company to train their manager and staff to act professionally and ensure that discrimination is not tolerated. I strongly advise you to check your CCTV footage before attempting to dismiss this complaint or responding unprofessionally under customers review.

I DO NOT RECOMMEND VISITING THIS PLACE. UNLESS THEY CHANGE THEIR...

I brought my partner and a new friend to this fantastic bar, situated at the end of Leicester's glorious Castle Park. I am very new to the area, and we'd already earmarked Soar Point as a place to visit.

Entering through the doors, the place is MASSIVE. It goes underground and is pleasantly cool, especially on a hot day like yesterday. Walking down the steps, the decorations made it very clear we'd made the right decision.

I sat my friends down at a fantastic comic themed table - complete with plugs for a potential laptop or phone charger, and hopped up to the bar for some drinks (and a fantastic cocktail - Tikka 😩🙊to die for).

I was served by Sara (Sarah?) Who was a fantastic host, recommending me cocktails, letting me pet her gorgeous dog Odie, and just generally brightening the whole establishment with her fantastic outfit, smiles and general vibe.

To quote little orphan Annie "I think I'm gonna like it here!". I intend to spend a lot more time in this wonderful establishment, and would highly recommend anyone check it out. Soar point, flying...
