Purchased a John Lewis ANYDAY cocktail shaker a week ago, went to use it, but it leaks and goes everywhere when shaking cocktails. Went to return it to store it was purchased in the following week, but due to not having a receipt as not provided at purchase they refused a refund or exchange as their John Lewis ANYDAY range product "could have been purchased from anywhere", so they don't know if it is their product. (which is a breach of the consumer rights act 2015) The same cocktail shaker was still being sold at time of return, and is still being sold on their shelves as part of their own range, but they were not interested in this. I went home and followed the website process to submit a complaint by phone and was told I can't, and have to submit an email form. I submitted the form where it provides a case number and says you'll have an update in approximately 24 hours, or to call a number to speak to them straight away, so I did and was told I can't speak to them, so when asking if their website was wrong she refused to confirm, I asked to speak to a manager and she wouldn't put me through to one but insisted she wasn't refusing before putting me on hold for 20 minutes. Edit 1 - Reference John Lewis's reply, this is not managers discretion, John Lewis are actively breaking UK law by ignoring the Consumer Rights Act 2015, wherein I have tried to return a faulty product within the 30 day period. (10 days at time of return) I've also attached image of John Lewis's trustpilot review response where they confirm they can locate the transaction, but are actively choosing not to do so.

THIS REVIEW CONTAINS ONLY A VERY BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE ONGOING, LENGTHY AND FRUSTRATING ISSUE. If it was possible to give ZERO stars I would have done so. Ordered 2 sofas and a chair in March 2022 valued at over £3500. The experience was appalling from start to finish! Which was the exact opposite of the great service we’ve always received with many past purchases. Finally received all 3 items some 3 months after original delivery date - received no regular updates during this time and had to continually phone and email for information. Several delivery dates were missed without any warning. Informed John Lewis that the service and quality of goods was unacceptable and received a small part refund as a ‘good will gesture’ for the delays. John Lewis arranged for an ‘independent ‘ engineer to call to inspect the sofas. He concluded that there was no fault with the misshaped cushions and that the issue was due to the type of foam and wadding used. He advised that we ‘dress’ the cushions after each use. We still have an embarrassingly misshaped suite that bears little resemblance to the quality one we saw on display in store. I ‘gave up’ a few months ago when we were offered another ‘independent’ engineer visit, but now intend to continue to resolve the issue with renewed vigour, including a full refund.

Where do I start, what an absolutely amazing experience purchasing from John Lewis Cardiff Today. The lovely lady who served me was so helpful and absolutely brilliant in every way. I purchased Dior Eau Sauvage Extrême from them, from the moment I walked in there earlier this afternoon to Test out the product & see if it was what I wanted, to the moment 1-2 hours later when I went to purchase the item, the customer service was absolutely spot on, I cannot thank the lady who served me enough, and even though my John Lewis app was being rather temperamental at the till, she was patient and allowed me all the time I needed. Well done to whoever you are. And even though I was excited so I was in a rush to purchase it, she picked up The Parfum & apologised profusely & made everything right, it wasn't a bother & I soon left there with a huge smile on my face. Thank you whoever you are!
