This is a great place to visit. I took my 12 year old son and his friend. Entry is free, parking costs £5.00 for the day. There is plenty to see and a map is provided to help with locating buildings. There were videos providing information and a smithy, who was really informative and friendly telling us all about the furnaces etc. A cafe sells reasonably priced food and drink, toilets are available in a couple of locations, WiFi is also provided free if required. Morbid curiosity compelled us to check it out and it did not disappoint! It was relatively quiet and a nice walk to get to. It was free entry and to pay a contribution at the end. It was a slight walk up from the quarry museum but if you take your time up it's worth the walk.
