A beautiful cafe with very friendly and chatty staff. I was there with my ADHD puppy who was served with the best puppuccino ever - full of cream an love š¶ Due to reaaallly tasty coffee and a cosy atmosphere we came back the next day to sit inside. My destroyer couldn't be happier. They have plenty of choices, including vegan options. Also, you can buy hand made arts and photographs (team cows here ššš). The place is clean, "nature" friendly designed and I just loved it. P. S. To the person who wrote review about working in the coffee IN A GROUP and not being willing to pay for it: Maaaannn, most of coffee shops in Europe don't allow that or charge you even if you are just by your self. Even in Ethiopia they do that. Go to the rent an office space for a day to check how much it will cost you. Why is it so shocking that staff was not happy? You refused do pay, you then sat in their space doing your job anyway ignoring that other clients exist too and they won't have the possibility to host them and you are complaining. Yet, you have audecity to point out you spent Ā£80 so they should have been happy. In the meantime, they could earn 5 times more that money AT LEAST to sit groups of people at the bigger table (the ground floor is small and cosy) . Sorry, I had to mention that. Giving 2 stars for being cheap and complaining on staff because of that...
Read moreCoffee and food are decent, the lady who was serving was nice but the man was rude. 4 of us had come to do some work. He offered us their upstairs working space which would have cost us £20 for half a day or £40 for the day, fair enough kind of a good idea. However we weren't sure we would be there that long so opted to sit in the main cafe. In the end stayed for quite a while, and eventually heard him go to the lady behind the counter and rudely state that next time someone comes in and says they'll just be working for a couple of hours the answer is no. By this point we'd spent approaching £80 in the cafe, the cafe had in no way been busy for most of the day, and the two times it had approached capacity we had food and drinks on the table. I had been thinking of buying more food but after I heard him say this there was no chance and none of us are likely to return. I understand that some people do go in to cafes and take tables for a long time whilst buying very little, which is a pain especially if it is busy, but we were spending money the entire time and no one was unable to get a table due to us being there. Unacceptable. If he had a problem he should have talked to us instead...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI really like this cafe but, like other reviewers I think thereās a lot of room for improvement. Petes Eats has been closed awhile now & this has been the only coffee house to chat with friends. But⦠with the tourist season coming, The weekend food is ridiculously expensive for what it is; the choice is limited & space isnāt the issue. I bought a sausage roll & when I asked why it was cold, I was told that I should have checked beforehand as it was one āfrom yesterdayā and, No⦠it couldnāt be warmed up ?!* The food IS NOT made on the premises and no matter how you dress this up, it amounts to the same deal. Keep your prices regular & instead of loyalty stamps, give locals a lo/go pass as The Heights do. After all, we keep you going in winter & donāt need tourist prices. Itās quirky, dog friendly and easy going. Slightly fuzzy but overall, I like it! Itās defo the best place...
