I came here with my partner in August last year. We were in Liverpool for a break and decided to come see snowdon. The day we got here the weather wasn’t great and we got tickets for the snowdon railway. We cheated as I’m to scared to walk up with my fear of heights lol. The tickets cost 30 return taking you up and down. We got as far up as rocky valley because of the rain and bad sight and one of the trains were stuck at top for over an hour. They got down safely though and we got a partial refund. Aside from this I loved the train journey we did manage to see. The views are astounding and I’m hoping to go back down the next few months and walk up it. The cafe at the station has lovely food your able to eat on train with you and the staff are really friendly and helpful. Paid parking is available here and there’s also toilets to. If going to snowdon don’t miss out on a chance especially if you...

When the week before arriving in Wales a green blob appeared on the website for the day we would be in Wales ! On arrival at the station we used the spotlessly clean loos and went to the ticket office to collect our tickets, a very warm welcome from the gentleman with a beard. He promptly told me our carriage is his favourite - carriage A where we share with two others, it has extra leg room and because the train is pushed rather than pulled, we would get a 360° view - there is a chance we may have to peek around the conductors head - this man made the experience first class...
Read moreThis mountain railway journey is very spectacular, be warned though tickets are limited and we had to wait for about 5 hours to board our train. Some trains are steam and some are diesel, we were lucky to get a steam engine. At the summit you have to be careful to get the right train, it's a long walk down if you miss it. Journey to the summit is about an hour as there are several stops to allow trains to pass each other. If you find yourself with spare time in Llanberis the lakeside railway and mining museum are both worth visiting. Highlight of our holiday in North Wales, the summit views on Snowdon...
