Really poor service. The staff were incredibly rude, and on our visit, the food was not fit for consumption.
We popped in for breakfast after reading all the good reviews. When we received our food, two out of three of us had mouldy bread. We informed the staff who didn't offer an apology but offered to remake one dish and replace the bread on another. When the remade dish was delivered, there was long hair in the food contained in maple syrup. There was no maple syrup included in the dish, so cross contamination was also an issue.
When the plate was returned for a second time, we asked for a refund. There was no confrontation. We were very polite. They agreed without issue. However, the money was slammed down on the table by a member of staff who didn't acknowledge us but did pull a face as she walked away. As the others ate their food, we could hear them talking about us negatively.
Very dissapointed in the attitude of the staff. They were incredibly rude over issues that were of their own making. No apology was offered for either incident, and despite us being very nice about the issues, we were still made to feel unwelcome and that it was unreasonable not to want to eat mouldy, hairy food.
The food that was eaten wasn't cooked particularly well with issues with over and undercooked...
Read moreFirst up, the only review worth anything is your own, based on your own experience. As for mine this is my 'review' based on one visit so it can hardly be regarded as authoritative!
On the face of it this is a nice, ordinary, dog-friendly café. The young female staff are polite and friendly. I ordered a simple snack, which on reflection was pricey for what it was and wasn't very good quality. We had soup of the day + sandwich which was (from memory) £9.25 each, plus a tea and a coffee. The soup was watery - more like broccoli flavoured water rather than a proper seasoned soup. The cheese sandwiches were as 'bare bones' as possible made with council quality white bread and square processed cheese slices. A bit of side salad would have helped. Pot of tea was fine but there's was only enough milk for one cup; the second I had only a sniff of milk.
That's it really. Not real complaints, just observations about value. If I was complaining properly I would have asked to speak to the duty manager, which I didn't.
On the plus side our dogs were able to have a drink and the outside space was nice...
Read morePlace was very busy on arrival - always a good sign. We weren't actually sure if we'd get a seat as inside was full but decided to walk in anyway. There was some seating outside which was sheltered from wind and rain (perfect as it was a windy/rainy day) so we sat out here - ladies were so lovely and informed us that a table was available inside after about 5 minutes but we decided to stay outside. The food was AMAZING, honestly next level. I only leave reviews when the place is above and beyond. We actually usually like to eat at lots of different places but we will be back for a second visit to this one. We love that it offers an all day breakfast option too as this is exactly what we fancied at 1:30pm. It was the nicest breakfast we've had, everything cooked to perfection and so much flavour. Very quick service despite it being busy which we were very impressed with. Lovely and friendly staff throughout....
