Lodge Cottage — Attraction in High Peak

We have just returned from a fantastic break at Lodge Cottage! The cottage is warm and welcoming, and the location is idyllic, providing easy access to the village centre and iconic landmarks such as Peveril Castle and Mam Tor. The interiors were beautiful and effortlessly balanced modern comfort with traditional charm. The attention to detail was evident throughout, from the quality cookware to the thoughtfully provided essentials. Additionally, the dining area offered a lovely spot to enjoy meals, with a rustic atmosphere that added to the overall ambiance, especially when the fire was lit to add extra warmth and charm. We enjoyed time in the little cottage garden, which was the perfect spot to start the day with a cup of coffee or unwind in the evening with a glass of wine. The hospitality extended by the hosts was exceptional, with a personalised touch that made me feel like a welcomed guest rather than just a visitor. Lodge Cottage was the perfect place to stay for a big family Christmas! We had 8 people in the house and it was large enough that we all had our own space, and the dining room was perfect for Christmas dinner.

The cottage was decorated with such character, it smelled wonderful, was super clean and you could tell a lot of thought had gone into decorating it. The host was wonderfully easy to communicate with and happy to answer any questions, and everything was provided at the cottage. I’ve stayed in quite a few nice holiday cottages, but Lodge Cottage is now officially the nicest. Everyone would love to go back someday, and I must thank Lucy for having a cottage so lovely that it made our Christmas really special. We have no dining table or room at home to host all our family, so this was a major bucket list item ticked off for all of us.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Lodge Cottage in Castleton a load of family. The cottage itself was beautifully decorated and well-equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The location was unbeatable, nestled in the heart of the Peak District and surrounded by stunning countryside.

One of the highlights of our stay was the cosy wood-burning stove which kept us warm and toasty during the chilly evenings.

The owners were extremely friendly and helpful, providing us with a wealth of information about the local area and offering suggestions for things to do and places to eat during our stay. We took advantage of their recommendations and ended up having some of the most memorable experiences of our trip.

Overall, I cannot recommend this holiday cottage enough. It was the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of city life and a truly wonderful experience. I can't wait to come back and stay again...
