I think we only touched on part of this park. Around the Stone maze. It would appear there were more areas to explore across roads and slightly further down the hill. Each section had its own car park.
Great place for a walk. Some very steep inclines and Declines down to the bottom of this section of park, but walking back up the Chevin Steps was an achievement in itself. Around the top area is accessible and has some amazing views, breath-taking.
Slight gripe with the parking (feel free to move to the next review now to avoid a rant). Its paid, cheap enough, but I'm not sure what for. No toilet facilities at the parking site, though I'm led to believe there are others dotted thought the park (currently closed for maintenance). But on top of that, the machines didn't even work and so users are forced to download an app. Completely ostracised one older user who had to give up with his disabled adult son and leave. I offered to pay on the app for him but he greatfully declined. So sad to see a world that does this to its older...
Read moreFantastic place for a walk, bike, run or horse ride. Looks like there’s wild campers as well. There’s a couple of car parks at the main entrance to the chevin, they can get busy but you can usually find somewhere. There’s other entrances with some road side parking available as well. There’s various totes you can take to make it less or more challenging and make a walk anything from 10 mins to 2 hours. All paths have great scenery and some have some wonderful views overlooking Otley. It’s usually fairly busy with people and dogs but plenty of space so not crowded. Also there are horses being rode up there often so one to be aware of depending how...
Read moreA great place to visit with expansive views from the top and plenty of trails to walk. Many of the paths or steep, uneven or both. Plenty if benches. Parking is free at the moment and there is plenty of roadside parking if not. No toilets despite what the Council website says. The map on the council website does not match and there is. very little meaningful signposting. It is such a wasted opportunity as this sign could be so much better and could be making money...
