Never been before and wonāt be returning. I sat the whole time I was there confused as to what was going on or what type of place it is⦠Music playing, TVās with Football on, a Live Band, different groups of people sat eating in various areas of the venue whilst revellers walked past and through. A far too busy Bar straight ahead of me full of loud, drunk, letchy angry middle aged men in Christmas jumpers shouting, swearing; one grabbing me when I went to the Bar to buy a drink⦠and being obnoxious, argumentative and threatening - Towards women and staff only of course⦠All while I was trying to eat food that was served over an hour after I arrived, I chipped a back tooth on and I ate my dessert over 3 hours after I sat down! Three of my fellow Vegan and Vegetarian patron's received pork sausages when they had pre ordered Vegan sausages and were told the Vegan option has to be requested beforehand (THEY WERE) as the sausages on the menu listed with VE (for Vegan) next to them are always pork unless requested otherwise apparently!? I was given an incorrectly cooked Steak and had to hunt down fresh water and mayonnaise, despite politely asking serving staff four times for both, but a fellow patron went searching and found one small satchet of mayonnaise - Which I was very grateful for and I had to ask another fellow patron if I could please pinch some of their water - They said yes luckily! Far too loud, overwhelming, crowded and busy to be having sit down to eat customers as well as EVERYTHING else they had going on at the same time⦠Had to take two paracetamol, an antacid, lie down in the recovery position and hug a teddy bear when I got...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAfter driving through Otley, we stopped at the Treehouse Bar and Kitchen to get some dinner. The waitress took our drinks orders and then said she would come back to take our dinner order. We were slightly confused as everyone else around us was being served food, we kept trying to catch staff's attention but everyone just walked past us or spoke to other customers instead. They weren't even around to quickly grab or if they would catch our eye they would do a 180 and head to the other side of the restaurant. We waited for over 1h20 before someone came to check on us, we said we had been waiting for our food order to be taken and they said "Oh the kitchen closes at 7pm, let me check if we can still take it." Even though we had arrived around 6pm, we were told that we could no longer order food. Very disappointed as, like I said, we had been sat there well before the cut-off for orders, and the waitress seemed to be very chatty and take time to have conversations with other customers when our orders could have been quickly taken. I could be more understanding if the restaurant was packed, but it was a quiet Sunday evening. In fairness, the bar manager gave us his card to contact Treehouse for a discount, however he was also one of the people that continuously walked past us. It's a shame as we had to get food from the Wetherspoons down the road, when I'd much rather support a local business. After seeing reviews that reflect the wait time and poor service, we won't...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreVisited on a Tuesday evening with five colleagues, we'd reserved a table in advance. Arrived to be told to "find a table", and had to push two together. Young waitress came quite swiftly for a drinks order and then for the food order, and whilst she was efficient she clearly hates her job. Drinks came quickly, starters weren't too far behind. Unfortunately we then had at least a 20 minute wait for main courses, plus one person waited another five minutes because his chips weren't ready. We could see into the kitchen the entire time, nothing much seemed to be happening, and none of the other (very few) customers were being served either.
When the mains finally came, they were all actually extremely nice (I got the Korma Sutra chicken burger). Not sure what was going on with the mac & cheese though, it looked and tasted like macaroni just cooked with Cheddar cheese rather than a cheese sauce.
Desserts were ordered. The portion of chocolate brownie cake was massive, so we were very excited. Sadly, it tasted like a mass-produced frozen then microwaved product.
Finally, it was freezing! And I say that as someone who starts moaning about the heat once it reaches double figures.
TL;DR - Slow service, miserable wait staff, main courses great, sides and puddings not, wear a coat.
Would I visit again? Yes, I'd give it another go, because I do recommend...
