I've been recommended to come here for a while now, so I decided to take the partner there for a surprise. I booked my table a few days in advance and was sent a message for confirmation the day before we attended to confirm.
When we arrived, we were greeted straight away and taken to a table after a short waiting period. The atmosphere immediately absorbs you when you are seated, wonderful authentic music, a busy open kitchen, and the occional "OLÉ!" Shouted amongst staff around the restaurant. This was curtainly a delightful experience. We ordered a starter to share, and 3 tapas each. We have never been to a tapas before, so we were excited to see what the food would look like and taste light. The house special Mojito was also delicious. The starter arrived very quickly, and we enjoyed every single bite, I recommend Serrano Ham with salsa. Once we finished our starter, the main course.
The main course we picked a colourful selection of different food. Pork, cauliflower, chicken, and potato based dished. The cauliflower was incredible, very sweet, and just enough seasoning to tantalise the taste buds! The pork dishes were fantastic, and I couldn't stop until they were finished. The garlic chicken was ur safest choice, full of flavour and very garlicky it was very tasty but didn't have the pop and zing that the other dishes provided. However, don't let that discourage you. That chicken was succulent and juicy and perfect for anyone who wants something on the less spicy side. Finally, the desert.
A small selection, but each dish sounded just as scrumptious as the other. We decided after a short break from food and tucking into our mojitos, the cheesecake. I, myself, cannot resist a cheesecake and almost full from the previous dishes managed to eat the very creamy, soft, and rich cheesecake.
The staff were very accommodating and all staff were knowledgeable of the menu. The only downside was because of its popularity. The staff seemed to have been running ragged, serving all the patrons at this very fine establishment. This has become a favourite of mine, and tapas food cook and served to this quality has set the bar for all future tapas restaurants I will visit in future. Thank you Olé Olé, I...

The food was absolutely amazing (my girlfriend isn't a huge fan of blue cheese, but has been nagging me constantly to try and recreate the blue cheese croquettes we had there ever since). Be aware that if you order a little too much, you'll happily eat too much rather than leave a single bite, so don't be tempted to snack before you go.
Even better than the food was the service, and the incredibly friendly, efficient and helpful waiter not only indulged my bad and rusty Spanish, but helped me with the pronunciation and translation of some of the items on the menu, and helped out with a couple of recommendations that were totally spot on!
The cherry on the cake came we were leaving: we caught up with our waiter right outside the huge opening to the kitchen. We gave a truly well-deserved tip, and I blushingly thanked and praised the staff in the best Spanish I could muster. The chef closest to me just smiled and said "olé olé?". I grinned and replied a little more loudly with the same, only to be greeted with an incredibly well-synchronised and enthusiastic roar of "OLÉ OLÉ!", followed by cheering and clapping which pretty much the entire restaurant joined in with
We normally try somewhere different whenever we revisit a city, but this place will be first choice...
Read moreWe visited Ole Ole with high hopes, especially after reading many positive reviews. The restaurant itself is large and visually appealing, and we were promptly shown to our table — a good start.
We ordered four dishes from the lunch offer menu. Unfortunately, only two arrived initially. We were told the other two were on their way, but they didn’t arrive until about 10 minutes later — long after we had finished the first dishes to prevent them from going cold.
Sadly, the food did not live up to expectations. Compared to tapas meals we've enjoyed elsewhere, the offerings here were underwhelming. The Zorza con Patatas was particularly disappointing — the pork was dry and overwhelmingly salty. The meatballs lacked flavor entirely, and the chorizo al vino was very basic, with no trace of garlic or onion, and again, far too salty.
To their credit, when we mentioned the overly salty food to our waitress, they kindly offered one of the desserts free of charge. While this gesture was appreciated, it didn’t make up for an overall unpleasant meal.
Verdict: Despite the warm welcome and nice setting, the food and experience left much to be desired. We won’t...
