The name is a bit misleading. It's a big sand pit, not a beach - there is no water (although it's next to the river, its actually in the raised, paved area that leads to York House Gardens), and it's in a contained area where dogs cannot enter.
This also has two wooden boats 'beached' in the sand for the kids to play on that look really fun. During this sunny period, there is a large cover providing shade from the sun for the young ones.
